Yes, Blast engine to begin with. Using the XB head makes mounting easier. But I dont see any reason you cant use the Blast head. Front mount mod would be a reverse of the XB head to Blast mount and if (or when) you see where 'we' have the top tie bar mount the Blast head might be easier. But the XB head is best! "Easiest" would be putting a Blast crank in an XB engine. The Blast engine block doesnt have a mounting boss for the belt tensioner. So that needs to be fabbed or the swingarm needs to be made adjustable or you have to get the gearing "just right"! I'm still very envious! |

welllllll i do have the xb head, piston, cams, cylinder, s/e ignition, pushrods, still sitting in a box... just not sure if i will donate them to this project yet. think i will wait until its up and running to see what i think. and i do have a chain swingarm sitting around to. although i only have a few of the other pieces needed to make it work. also, that was ment to go on my poor old 9 to eliminate breaking the 10th belt one of these days... i do know he has the xb front head mount actually on the blast head and hooked to the frame.. also the rear mount has been swapped to the xb mount. some tie bars have been built... im kind of anxious to get this thing although i know i wont be able to just buckle down and focus on that project completely, so it will be a slow build. |

I dont know. Since my and James' finances took a big hit, we were left with a world class Blast to race and no fundage to do it. My RaceBlast has sat unrepaired for quite some time too and I was willing to loan it out to support the cause until everything came to a screeching halt. Ernie Snair from Glendale Buell/Harley (a Badweb sponsor) is the Blast racing cheerleader there and is mostly responsible for putting it all together. I havent called him to find out the answer to the very question you ask (but I meant too), At the end of last year there were no 'stock' Blasts racing. Only Tuber, XB's and the 17" wheel converted Blast. Its hardly the 'spec' class it was aimed to be anymore It also seemed like many were jumping ship to other brands as well Slaughter would know, maybe you or I can post it up at the racing section to find out. |

There you go! Properly wearing out your Blast! Mine right now is the main errand runner, the CR goes to church and a very long way home, and any other weekend rides, though there is a couple of local Blastards I want to hook up with when things start settling down. EZ |
