Which fits? My guess is that an SV650 exhaust isnt going to just "bolt right on" or are you just talking about the muffler only? And whats a "drilled exhaust"? And whats the carb jetted to? Depending on exactly what you have will determine what answer. Frankly I would get it street legal and running correctly and ride it a week before doing anything else. Unless you've got personal knowledge that the engine you just put in ran just fine. I'm not doubting its worthiness, but before experimenting you should know where your baseline is. Theoretically they should all be the same, but......... |

If you dont have 1.75" header to bolt the SV can to, I wouldnt bother. Put the "drilled" exhaust on and look for a V & H, Jardine or White brothers header (or other suitable Buell/Harley headpipe). If the SV can is only 1.5" inlet diameter, then go ahead. |

What jets? Where is your idle mix screw set at? How's your timing? |

"Catch"? Pop, backfire, smoke, anything or just turning over, dead? Spark, fuel, compression. Did you ever hear or see the '05 engine run? Did you leave everything intact on the '05 engine or did you have to swap carbs, ignition, etc? |

Exactly 6 hours and frame is in 2 pieces and motor is on the ground, head and jug, starter removed. Tomorrow split the cases and remove old crankshaft. |

The primary is off on the left side...the shifter mechanism and detent is off under the primary...the cam cover is off on the right side...the output pulley is off on the right side...the crank shaft nut is removed and the crank pinion and oil pump drive gear is off on under the cam cover...and the head and cylinder is off...it should come apart, but it does not come apart easily due to crancase sealers and bearing tolerances. |

You need to remove the crankshaft nut to remove the pinion gear and oil pump drive gear. You need to remove the pully from the output shaft. You need to remove the snap ring from the countershaft(if there is one)You might as well get the piston out of the way to keep from damaging it. To get the lifters out you need to remove the two locating screws on the right side of the engine just under the cylinder deck area. I can't see the back side of the engine but is the rear mount removed? Also remove the speed sensor and neutral switch for safe keeping. |

So I just remembered that when i first picked up my blast that a mouse scurried out of the exhaust pipe. the first time i got it running it blew some crap out of the exhaust. if a mouse nested in the exhaust could it be possible that the muffler is plugged up and that could keep the bike from just cold starting nice and easy like? |

It is possible, I had that problem one time with a snowmobile...I took the exhaust off and shook everything I could out of it and then it would run and once it got really hot it burnt the remaining acorns up |

my 02 speedo is wrong. i have 120/80/16 tires and have the right belt and sprockets. At 70 it shows about 80. i have another 04 speedometer with only 1800 miles, but is that the problem or the sensor? |

How did you measure that you were doing 70 while reading 80? |
