I wanted to just verify with others, befor I go ahead with it, I am running a 3 inch stack with the outerwears filter/screen on my blast. The exhaust broke where it connects to the canister and I never replaced/fixed it (after the 3rd time welding stopped) and just wrapped the pipe and put a tip. and ran it I am going to order a 48/175 as per EZ and just wanted to make sure with the strait open pipe like that I shouldnt run something bigger just incase I have not drilled out the idle screw and probably wont. Unless it would be a big improvement |

ARGH!! ok I called my local dealer and they have the 48, So I will go pick it up for 6.75 BUT.. they dont have the 175, I was wondering if I run 48/170 will I be ok? I know when Ive had the bike running as is with the stock jets when its running its great once it idles it will die unless I give it a bit of gas. will I be fine if I just run the 48/170 for now? |

If you have a H-D dealer in town your town is large enough to have at least 2 independent H-D repair shops that will have every CV carb jet you will ever need. Go see them first or go out into the service department and see if they will sell you a jet out of their carburetor tuning kit(a big box with all the jets) |

Why arent you going to drill out the plug over the idle mixture screw? That defeats the purpose of actually tuning the carb and replacing slow jets until you get it right is the long way around. Its not hard. 1/8", 3/16" drill bit. drill a small hole, insert a self tapping screw, tweak it out with pliers or vice grip. The Harley shop way is to just whack it with a chisel edge punch and break the plug off! |
