Hello all... New to the site too, I was getting some info on a diff. forum here, this one looks a lot more fun lol anyway... Does anyone know where I can get the small bug deflector for the blast? I have the big windshield, and I really don't like it... Lol Also, my speedometer just started acting up, when I come to a complete stop it just hangs between 5 and 10, and like 2 seconds later it drops to 0, any ideas? |

Look in the knowledge vault, go to the "gauge-speedo etc. section and it will tell you how to check faults if there are any with your speedo. I've never done it so I can't give a testimonial on the subject. Maybe someone who has will chyme in give you some insight. Good luck! |

Welcome Luis! The stock flyscreens are often available on e-bay and the "Battle Blue" colour is not that desirable so you should be able to get one at a low price. You'll have to wait for one to come up for sale though. They are available new from a Buell/HD dealer too: Part # M1600.6A7MBB WINDSCREEN KIT, BLAST, BATTLE BLUE Retail Price:$76.00 The brackets that hold the big Buell windshield also hold the small deflector, but you may need to buy some bolts. Cant tell you much about the speedo sensor except that sometimes cleaning it helps and all the info on replacement and cleaning is here at Badweb (and in your repair manual). And... your big Buell windshield sells for minimum $100 used and usually closer to $150 on e-bay. |

Hello all! I'm new to the Thumper club as well. I picked up a 2000 Blast a couple of months ago. It had the old 73 tooth sprocket on the rear and somehow it just broke on me.. I have no clue as to how this happened. Maybe that's why they recalled it and changed it to an 80. Anyhow, I finally have the 139 belt, 80 sprocket, and larger sprocket cover on the way. My question is, has anyone else experienced the sprocket just cracking on them? I'm trying to avoid this happening again. Since I bought the bike used, I'm hoping this is something the previous owner did. |

The dealer is supposed to pay for and install this on your bike. Even now 11 years later. The sprocket often "explodes" taking many other items with it, You're lucky it just cracked. The new sprocket will be fine. The problem was the original sprocket was in an un reinforced bell shape. It would bend easily (relative term). The new sprocket is reinforced and you'll be able to tell the difference and see why the new sprocket wont be a problem. It was only a matter of time before it happened and I sure hope you dont have to pay for this out of your own pocket. And...Welcome! |

Welcome to the Thumper Forum On-blast! Consider yourself fortunate that you didn't get hurt when it broke. Make sure you get new attaching bolts. |

Repair Manuals: 99.9% of all Blast parts are interchangeable between all years. There is very very little difference between a 2001 and 2010 Blast. The 2000 has the most differences and they were upgraded with replacement parts that fit the later years. There are minor differences in manuals, but nothing to worry about. |

Thanks for the info! Since I've come across this site I've gained a wealth of knowledge for this bike. With it being my 1st bike, I love it! This is very helpful and all my fellow Thumpers are pretty awesome! I still have the old sprocket, but all the mounting tabs are broken from where it was damaged. I also have the 135 belt and sprocket cover. |

Well, it'll all fit in the same box, so I'll take it all ! {Yes, I want the broken sprocket and I have no plans to fix it} Let me know, but the first priority is getting you back on the road |

Not a problem, you can email me a catchd27@hotmail.com. I'm sure we can work something out. I cant wait until these parts come in! I'm ready to get back on the road! I'm thinking of ordering a set of Bikemaster Superbike Handlebars in black to go with the bike. I have a new set of grips on the way and I'm thinking about a set of mirrors for the ends of the bars. |

I'm hoping so! Not bad for $21.00... I'm not a fan of those ugly stock bars anyway. Anyone know of any Thumper riders in the Dallas area? |

Just got my Superbike bars in! looking nice! Cant wait till I get them on the bike. I tried to download some before pics, but I guess the site only allows for a certain size. Mine were too large... Just waiting on the bar end mirrors and new grips. Starting small, but I'm looking forward to the end result! |

Hmmm, as many 'cagers' believe, sometimes us motorcyclists dont have much sense about such things!!! "Too badly hurt" is certainly relative! |
