Here's another photo of my '10 Royal Enfield C5 Bullet. Kuauai1800 got the iron barrel Bullet and will likely be more familiar with it through necessary repairs and maintenance, compared to the new UCE motor. I almost bought an earlier version of the Enfield but am happy I waited.

EZ, I have an aftermarket exhaust, less CC, and also a K&N air filter. Later this month the dealer is going to experiment with it as a test mule to fit a power commander on it. They will defeat the O2 sensor to allow the PC to do its magic. Right now with only 1600 miles it is smooth up to 60mph. I can feel it loosening up every 100 miles or so. I've had it up to almost 70mph and right now that's a good speed to make it so all nuts need to be tightened before the next ride. LOL! |

Help? NON MOTORCYCLE RELATED QUESTIONS TO FOLLOW: I need a laptop, notebook, ipad, whatever. I just need something portable and cheap to get internet access, maybe download and transfer pictures and maybe even "word". Just something to supplement my dysfunctional MAC. Any ideas? I also need a wireless signal repeater (to extend the wireless range in the house-but that might have been obvious). Anyone know of anything out there thats "user friendly" and just plugs right into the wall and its ready to go? Thanks for any help (and please dont laugh at me)!!! |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/632329.html?1306082567 There are a lot of inexpensive pads and laptops out there http://www.buyelectronicstore.com/8-touch-pad-goog le-android-netbook-notebook-tablet-pc-mid-m003_p37 55.html You can get a plug in repeater at Radioshack, if they still make such a thing, the new wireless - even the cheap stuff, pulls in signals easily, and you can get a basic data account from att if you want to roam with it as well. Thanks EZ. Why would I google anything when all I've ever needed is here at Badweb "Plug in repeater at RadioShack" Doh! I'm there every day. I'll ask and see if they laugh at me or look as if I'm insane (or stupid). Problem is I dont really know what will do what I need and its all just basic stuff. Remember, Gearhead not techhead! But the link is certainly in the price range I wanted. It looks like it will do what I want (email, surf, pictures, WiFi)? |

Did you know your mack has a default it can fall back on - a start over type wipe and go - I used to build them in Colorado long ago. I've brought a ton of old Macs back, however, a good used refurbished mac is around 350 in the Bay area - a lot of times new download of software is all they need. Outside of a Linux system, they are the most stable. I keep running Windows only because security is getting less intrusive, and their support software keeps everything running fast and smooth - AVG is the group I speak of, have their security system and system optimizer. F*** Norton and McAffee, and Kasperov - way intrusive and too many fubars and oopses on their part. Putting together a Linux system is a pain, though once done, is good. Too many systems in house to spend time chasing glitches, I keep it simple - the tower runs the security camera recordings, and is back up for the laptops - lots of gig. The 2nd oldest laptop has a an extended hard drive attached to save movies and such and is hooked into our tv to play or watch anything we want to watch on the TV - 42", then there is the oldest - it has garage look-up duty - can't handle anything else - very old - lol - then the wife and I both have our laptops and iphones - I keep looking at those pads for travel, but my Iphone already beats their game, and it has a world of apps to do other things as well - lol Guess what I'm saying is - time to step boldly into the modern world my friend! i just want to set up a tazer so if he walks too close to my bike it zaps him! or if anyone looks at her wrong. lol. but i guess i should just pay my parking, but i am parking in a spot that someone else is paying for so why should we both pay for it? whats screwed up is that i cannot get a residental parking permit b/c its a motorcycle, and he keeps giving me tickets, even though i talk to him pretty much everyday! so far ive been lucky avoiding the speeding tickets. i try to keep it under 80. even tho i have passed a cop while on my blast and a friend on his xl883 at 90 and he didnt think about moving, not even with our loud roars flying by. |

maybe a sort of meter-maid deterrent, like idk everytime he writes me a ticket i put some nasty smelling shit in his truck, or can i start writing him tickets for parking where he shouldn't? o yea we were in a 45mph zone 2 lanes on both sides split with a median. he was on our side. not to mention the times i roared into a construction zone passing cops just chillin at the begining of the zone in the blocked off section and didnt see them. I am going to behave from now on... haha well at least try |

Enfield update (I know you've been waiting for one ... ) Royal Enfield's new B5 model takes their ancient frame, still used in India on the 350cc Bullet, with frumpy rear fender and Bollywood thin metal tank badge, and puts the new UCE motor in it, plus kick-start. $5,500 new, $500 less than the next model up. I test rode one yesterday and it reminded me more of the Blast's ride and handling (in a good way) than my C5 (which finally hit 2k miles yesterday):

Still like it and I thought I'd never want to buy an Asian motorcycle.... But then again, India was British, so would I really be buying British, just a few years too late? |

went out and took some updated pics of my "asian bike". my girlfriend was supposed to get all licensed up so she can ride the buell legally but our states government has shutdown on us and now she cant. O well we still take it out here and there while were waiting for our politicians to grow a brain.

Almost balances - a good start - doing a lot of commuting on that bike, or are you ready to change the tires from being square - lol - but really the bike shows a lot of potential - black the pegs, frame, swing-arm and other accessories, black pinstripe the wheels - different fork cartridges, a shock upgrade, smoke light-covers and shield - she'll be styling - well that and a tail trim - lol - nothing though that you could not do. This is my goal for end paint and look, Ducati 916 tail, paint it gloss black or red and cover the side panels with period correct racing decals. Also make a cover for the right headlight and just run the left like an old endurance racer.

Itching for more speed and freeway stability, I bought a new old stock 2005 Moto Guzzi Breva 750 last week from Moto International in Seattle. They are the nation's top Guzzi dealer and 4 miles from home. The Breva had 5 miles, sold as new with 2-year transferable warranty, and rides like a dream. It is VERY similar to my (crashed, repaired, and sold) '03 XB9S in riding position, comfort, and handling. The price of under $5k was too good to pass up. They get some bikes from defunct dealers and sell them quickly. The Enfield is up for sale on CL but so far not a single byte! Can't imagine why. But I'm cool with 2 bikes as they are VERY different and both lots of fun. The Bullet has 2500 miles after a year and the Guzzi has 500 miles after a week.

That's Sharkey, my 1998 Concours aka Jaws.
That's Sharkey at work: Work to ride, ride to work. 2,000 Blue Ridge Mountain and freeway miles, this is definitely a great bike. 100-plus horsees, 75-plus pounds of torque, about the same figures as an XB12XT. Hoping Erik Buell Racing will do a sport tourer in a few years. Still riding Thumper. Nothing beats the Blast in traffic and in town, but now it's Sharkey's chum.
