1.75 exterior diameter for both - the Jardine is 4" longer, however the major differences lay in how severe the bends in the pipe are - the V&H having the more severe bends restricting its power outlay. The power nod goes to the Jardine, the longevity - due to the front P clamp system - to the V&H. The Force is wild top end, and custom is the bomb! EZ |

well at this point anythings less restrictive than the pro series i have. I was kinda bummed when I figured out its too small for an xb-blast |

The Jardine is only an 1 1/2 inches? Thats stock header/ProSeries diameter?! Sure? I like the Pro Series. Its got a nice, fairly quiet sound and good performance. But it chokes anything beyond the B50 cams and 6500 rpm Ironically, I went to White Brothers exhaust (a very special WB exhaust!) after the XB top end install. |

Warm the bike up, shut it down, pull the stick and wipe it clean, screw it back in to the tighten spot, pull it and check it. It should be no lower than half way between the two marks, low and high. Preferably half way or a little above. If you over fill it and run it, you'll be replacing rocker cover gaskets and possibly head (or jug) gaskets. |

Just to add my 2 cents. Between the lines is good. Between the lines is only about 8 ounces. So only add a little at a time. Warmed up to hot can mean the level is a the low line or at the high line. Dont stress on it. Just get used to checking it at fill up or I prefer when I pull into the garage and shut the bike down. That way I know, if the next time I start the engine and the level doesnt even show on the stick (or in the frame), I know I shut it down with a good oil level. Again, dont stress on it. Just do it regularly. ....and the difference between screwed in and not screwed in is about halfway between the lines. If it shows half full just dipped, then its full all the way screwed in. |

Every time I shift with my blast, the shifter slides down/up. I have tightened it up and I am still having the problem though. Is there a quick fix? or what are my options for possibly replacing it? I would prefer not to spend an arm and a leg. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Can anyone tell me whether to get the Jardine Exhaust or the Vance and Hines Exhaust. I originally was going to go with the Vance and Hines because it was cheaper. However, I found The Jardine Exhaust for right around the same price as the Vance Hines. I would like my bike to sound better. Which one of these would be best? Thanks for your help. |

It's been awhile, but I figured I'd stop in and say Hi. The Bast now has about 54000 miles and is trucking along. Every time I ride the bike, I'm surprised by it... |

It hasn't changed much over the years. I put a new piston/rings in it at 50,000. Right not it's got the same homebrewed rearsets, beat Corbin, Pro-Series intake and Exhaust... no huge changes. I need to spend some time with the XBlast. |

James!!! We still need to get together n Ride the Blasts, with GearheadErikO and you on your Blast. We gots ta do it before he ends up in Montana for good. I've seen you on your Uly from time to time, I was on a yellow H*nda since my Blast was down for part of July and August. 2nd clutch cable break within a 3 month span. Anyways I'm just now a little over 31,000 miles on my Blast and would like to do another Big Bear or Arrowhead ride before it needs a rebuild. |

I've never heard Jardine, but everyone within 1/2 mile of by Blast heard the V&H. It sounded a lot like half a Sportster with no muffler. |

ok, i have this '03 blast that creates excessive noise on the primary side. the chain guide and tensioner foot have been replaced, but the tensioner still "rattles". trying not to overadjust the bolt. it also appears as though the chain is trying to burn through the side case where the center bolt is. ???? |

How much difference does a carb splitter make on the Blast? |

"How much difference does a carb splitter make on the Blast?" EZ would be able to answer that question in more detail. But I noticed on mine that when I twist the throttle open doing 50 that it gets to 70 and above a whole lot quicker than it did before. |

Did you rejet it? I've decided my goal for the Blast is "fast enough that I feel comfortable commuting on it." High altitude (5500' give or take), high speed (I cruise at 80+ for my commute with bursts faster), heavy traffic. That will put it firmly into the realm of "My girlfriend has no trouble keeping up with people on it." Next step is the exhaust, but the splitter concept looks solid too, so I've been looking into it. Nothing like $0.50 of metal adding a good bit of power... |

Arell welcome to the Thumper Forum! I would pull the primary cover, or at least the clutch adjustment cover and take a look. I could be possibe that you have a loose crankshaft sprocket nut, which will ruin your crank before long. It also could be possible that the spring that holds your bottom primary shoe has come out of the shoe and the she is rattling in there. Check our our Thumper Knowlege Vault, Engines, Primary and you will find ALOT of information there, 10+ years worth of self-inflicted and regular problems. |
