I call "shenanigans" Sorry. That kind of BS ticks me off when it happens to a friend. But I can tell you've moved on. The Karma of a good deal given often comes back as a good deal received. |

Well, I've finally signed up on the forum (even if I have been lurking for months..). I bought my 2001 Buell Blast in June of '10 and have since put about 3000 miles on it. And then, I went on a 3 week trip in the winter and let my dad use the bike. Well I live in Florida so no biggie on riding in the winter. But when I got back, I find my bike's brakes were bad. I thought okay, you know its about time to change them anyway. Then upon closer inspection I realize they'd been going bad for a while and grooved out the rotors something fierce.. So I thought to myself, oh great rotors too. And not five minutes later my dad stopped by and was sitting on my bike and laughing about the joys of him riding again. He had his hand on the brake lever while he was there and well, I heard a crack and the brake lever had snapped in two. My heart sank. A great welcoming home present for me. So as I had spent most all of my money on my trip, I parked and covered her for a while, and then of course things happened, bills fell behind and it had become 4 months later (I still went out and started it pretty regularly though). So I finally came into some money, said screw it, and ordered the parts. Well they said 7 - 10 days, so I said okay I'll just tear it apart and paint it. So now everything that I wanted painted is painted, and all I have left to do is wait for my parts and put it all back together. Wow, I wrote a novel, my bad. ^_~ Evil |

Thank you! And most definitely. I'm conspiring with Thumpe on mounts for that headlight of his. Then some rearsets, carb upgrades (still trying to understand the workings of them, but if I take a couple apart a few times I should get it. ), new handlebars, turn signals, and maybe a big bore kit down the road. But for now its one thing at a time. Evil (Message edited by Evilistic on April 13, 2011) |

Swampy: Does the Uly come with a mower deck and snow blade attachment? I didnt know!!! EZ thanks for posting the cartoon. Since my PC crashed and the Mac no longer works right, I'm relegated to the laptop for posting such things and "Vista" wouldnt let me post a pic. One of these days I'll get it all straightened out and I'll be worth a damn to Badweb again. Until then I'm just limping along.... |

your laptop must be old, my Vista lap top is moving right along, and the window 7 computers are flying - we don't watch tv here, we watch the net - much more entertaining and we get the same shows as well - lol EZ |

Hello blastards, Just sayin' hey, I just bought this 04 blast with 3200 miles on 'er. I bought it from a gal which should explain the pinkness of the buell lettering, i think it's kinda neat actually. and I don't want to take it off until i have a neutral-gendered replacement, mainly. Not very good at riding yet, I was able to get into 2nd gear today on a road near my house.. and i was able to shift back down-- pretty good i think considering my only prior experience is 18 years on a bicycle and 5 days on a scooter. haha. anyway.. Hello! nice to meet you!

Welcome! Be careful and enjoy! May I recommend a beginner rider safety course - that way if/when ya goof up you'll at least probably know why. Black is the fastest color, pink just makes it racy - lol EZ |

hey thanks guys! haha the pink stays--its decided. I have a safety course scheduled, should be a licensed rider by may 14th! I just got it ahead of time because it was a great deal (1300$!) and so i wouldn't be ...that... guy that didn't know anything and was holding the class back when it came to the riding days. I've since mastered shifting into 3rd and 4th, still haven't reached 5th because of the posted speed limits on the roads near my house.. and i still need badly to work on my starting-out clutch release. other than that, im getting more and more comfortable, closer to becoming a full-fledged thumpster. |

Welcome all, I am new here with high hopes. I just got a 2002 blast and want to make it "my own". First question, anyone know a person or company that makes a bracket to re mount the footpegs so those inconvenient brackets that are stock can come off.? Second. Anyone live in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area that wants to do some riding? |

Christopher, There's lots of info on this site about installing rear sets on the Blast, thus eliminating those heavy, awkward brackets. They're not cheap, though. The Milwaukee area is chock full of Buell riders. Those of us from Illinois often start our rides by heading North, because Illinois is so darned boring. If you have a Buell, you want to ride ! |

About $200 is what it would cost to make your own rearsets. The most expensive piece being the shifter ($100 appx.), but you can even modify the stock shifter if you dont mind reverse shifting (GP style). The rest of the $$ is for odds and ends, pegs, bolts and such. Aluminum plate is easily cut with a standard jig saw. Not that difficult really, just time. Of course its always easier if you already done it once! Welcome GFC! |

Hey all! New to the forum, the Blast and two wheeled vehicles... Got a 2002 Blast a couple weeks ago from my cousin - black bike which I have now removed the Buell stickers and it also already has the Vance and Hines exhaust. Got my learner's permit so I've been taking short rides with my girlfriend (on her 1976 Honda CB750). So much fun! I'm taking the safety course before I get the actual license and ride on my own, in the next month or so. Can't wait to personalize this bike (I leave no vehicle stock). |

Anyone going to be having a blast on a Blast at Sportbike NW,in Stevenson Washington this year? Looking forward to meeting you. Gonna start out in Terrebonne Or. ,home town. Head west to Salem , hang with a buddy (rides a Uly) and ride back roads for a couple of days. Leave there and head NE towards Mt. Hood. Lots of great back roads that take you to the base of the mountain and up over to Hood River. Then NW to Stevenson Wa. to start the 4 day 5 night rally. Will post pics when I get a chance. Keep um down.....peace! |
