Probably from the idle mixture screw. It usually has the screw, spring, 1 or 2 washers and the small o-ring....and that may be why it dies. There are other possible reasons, but check that first. |

Ok, I put the small o-ring back on the top of the a/f mixture screw. It seems like a perfect fit. It is running way too lean when you give it gas. I am thinking that when I soaked the carb some gunk moved around and clogged a different port. There was a fair amount of crap in the bottom of the container it was soaking in. So I took it all apart and back into the tank it went. I will bring it with me to work tomorrow and blow it out with some air. I have a bigger compressor there than I do at home so fingers crossed I can clean it out better. |

Sounds like you didn't put the carb back into the boot correctly. EZ |

Check to make sure your slide diaphragm is installed correctly. Then, make sure you have the needle guide(retainer) installed correctly in the slide. Then make sure you have the needle guide installed correctly under the emulsification tube that the main jet screws into. Good luck, glad you got it starting easy! |

Well Swampy, you were right. It was the needle guide. I put it in upside down. I put it back together and it runs and starts great now. I hope that everything is worked out now. I can't complain that I spent all afternoon working on it because it was really nice out. The only bad news is its going to rain all week...go figure. Thanks everyone for your input and I will let you know how it starts in the morning. |

A guy from Flint brought his Blast over because it wasn't working correctly, I would consider him a fairly good wrench as he was a professional snomobile racer(for you guys in California look it up on the internet, it is what happens around here for 9 months out of the year) Once we took the air cleaner off it was clear what happend, so you are in good company. I was in Battle creek tonight visiting a friend from Mexico up for a granddaughters graduation. |

Hijack? Guilty as charged! Well, my wife's moved! I'm just waiting on a transfer (and I still have a lot of stuff* to pack). I moved one motorcycle up there along with a trailer for emergencies. *Stuff: Parts and tools and more parts, etc. I'm not sure if I'm more "Hoarders" or "American Pickers" !!! |
