hi my name is Jarrod Sealey, and i'm a Buell'er. I have a 2001 Buell blast. so far the only mods i have are an inductive tach, custom front pegs curtesy of my supportive father. I really ride to live, and live to ride. as long as there's no one in front of me, its full throttle ahead. i get down and scrape my titanium pegs and throw white sparks out behind me. just so i can feel alive. of course i know that this is a dangerous and stupid way to ride, but i dress for the fall. i look forward to riding with as many other Buell'ers as i can, and hope you dont mind when i come up roarin' behind ya'.. Wanted to introduce myself. Im Josh, just bought a 2001 Buell blast. Rode it four blocks and it died. It will idle but wont rev up without dieing. From what Ive read, i thinks its bad gas and Das boot. I put fresh gas in with sea foam and will put a new boot on tonight. This is my project bike. I hope to turn it into a modern board track racer with in two years. Until then maybe my friends or girlfriend can learn to ride on it. This site has been a big help. thanks Josh. |

Sounds like the boot. Easy repair. The thing I've discovered about Blasts is that they don't like to sit. Drive it every day and drive it hard and it will love you for it. At least, that's how it's been with mine! |

Hello Twack, clean looking Blast. You should get started on the simple mods asap. I would start by getting rid of that clunky air box and replace it with the American Sport Bike stack. Also, getting hooked up with some rear sets will lighten the bike quite a bit and it will look much better imo. Blasting away in PR, that sounds like the life. Welcome Laboy1! I'm a bit jealous... Now that I've had my Blast and been riding a couple of months after an 8 year hiatus, I took my 6 year old for his 1st motorcycle ride today. His reaction? "When can we go again??!!" YES!!!!!! Now to get my (almost) 10 year old to go. He's not very adventurous (which is good and bad) and declines the ride offer. I know that one day he'll try it, and he'll be hooked. For now, I've got a treat to share w/ one of my kids that's all his. |

Funny thing, I sold my Sporster today.... I sold it to my best friends brother. I only kept the bike the last couple of years so my best friend Clint would have something to ride when he came up from Kansas. Anyways, Clint died in June and I decided it was time to let it go as I could pay off some bills. I told his brother about it when I went to the family reunion and he said he would buy it. I had it advertised for $4500 and I though we agreed on a price of $3700 for him. 1991 Sportster with custom paint, alot of chrome, lowered drag bars, forward controls, you know, all the FAG stuff. So today his mother and father show up with a nephew to pick it up and she drops $3000 on the counter and I'm like confused. Mom says that's all Doug sent. I call Doug and it goes to voice mail. I load the bike and send them on their way and finally Doug calls, and sounds confused saying $3000 was what we agreed to. Anyways, for a good day, it's a bad day. Wife is OK with $3000. So again, I'm the dad, looks like I always pay.... |
