Sometimes you can pop them out and re use them. Its easy just to replace them with license plate bolts, they come in metal or plastic (or any 1/4" bolt). |

Here's some new pics of my luggage system. Some of you may recall that I bought these beastly bags a while back and have since been seeking a way to keep them from my belt guard on one side and from the bleeder nipple on the rear brake on the other side. I've always been a fan of the aluminum tube luggage systems on many bikes and decided that I wanted to try and duplicate the look. I originally tried with conduit but could not get the bends I wanted so switched to thick-walled 1/2" PVC (primed gray). They have 50 miles load testing so far and seem to be exactly what I needed for the larger bags. They sit low enough that a passenger can get their legs over and to the foot pegs (should that ever be necessary). Thinking of drawing up some actual plans (if interested PM me). I also have larger pics available.

Nice... and easy to do! Do you know how much weight you got in the bags? |

I have never weighed my load out. . . The bags weigh 2-3 pounds and I usually have my laptop (11.5#), dress shoes, lunch, briefcase, spare helmet visor (in case I'm out after dark), warmer gloves, etc. Best guess is 15-20 pounds a bag. The hardest part to figure out (for me at least) was the best way to secure it all with 1/4" bolts. I settled on a 1/8"X2" aluminum plate as a backer behind the bungee tabs and ran the bolts through the PVC, the bungee tabs and the plate before securing with lockwashers and nuts. 30-40lbs is good. I tend to ignore the weight limit on bags and I'm sure I'm not the only one! |

If you have any problems with the mounting try the Chinese tool supply for their Nut-sert or Riv-nut tool comes with 1/4 20 internally threaded rivets and the tool for about $15 and guaranteed . In plastic and fiberglass rivets will have higher yield strength and less vibration wear. nice set up though! CV |

Ed - Measurements on the way. . . I built the original prototype "on bike" as it were so I have to reverse engineer the plans. CVC - I hadn't thought of rivets at all but perhaps should have. The design idea was for removable brackets so I immediately thought of bolts that I could run through the bungee tabs on the frame. Had I thought of rivets I might have come up with a different mounting system! |

I am trying to finish some modifications to my bus (new closet kitchen table and ceiling mounted TV ) I only thought of those Cause I am using them to mount the TV and I have to be able to remove it occasionally to access some electronics. What tires are those I like the tread pattern and I am in the market SOON. |

I just put the Diablo scooter tires on my wife's Blast and the 9 mile ride to work and back home showed a huge improvement in front tire feel, turn in, and ride comfort over the stock MT75s. On the stock tires 10,800 saw 3 rears and one front wear out. |

Crossroads rocks! Best rear-sets you can buy if your serious about your bikes handling and knocks off as much weight as swapping out the stock exhaust, you will be at super-bike height and back, American Sport Bike carries them and are a vendor here. Very durable, broke a toe peg, replaced easily - they just keep humming along, makes belt change a snap - remove one bolt and loosen another, voila - done. They really rock the Blast! EZ |

The best place to hang your rear brake reservoir is on the top bolt of the starter that holds it to the case via a bracket - use red lock-tite. EZ |

While not immediately accessible, I mounted mine under the seat, near the shock, out of sight! |

Was it long enough for that in stock trim, or did you have to get a longer hose? EZ |

Sure are just go to my profile and check out the pics of my Blasts, however, the red bike in the picture is sporting the Banke set up but with better pegs. EZ |

If you get the Bankes, opt for the high set up or you'll be scraping pegs A LOT! |

Lol - that's why my pegs are better, just over 2" shorter than those Banke supplies and much less likely to scrape - lol EZ |

Reply to EZ-140/70 on the Diablo rear. A few hundred miles in and am finding the cornering much improved. |

Okay.. strange question. Does anyone use bar end weights on their stock blast handlebars? The cheap grips that were on the bike that the previous owner put on covered the bar end. So when I replaced them with the OEM grips, I found that the OEMs have holes on the ends. So I bought the bar end weights for them. My mystery is how to attach these weights? They appear to screw in, but there is no hole to receive the threads on the inside of the bar. Am I missing something?? (And as always... Thanks!!) |

There should be a bolt that goes thru the bar end into the handle which has an "expansion" widget on it. When you tighten the bolt thru the bar end the widget expands to grip the inside of the handle bar. (At least, that's how mine work) |

Hmm... anyone know where I can get this widget? Mine appears to be missing. I have what I thought were the stock bars, but perhaps not. I don't see anything like that in the parts manual. Any suggestions? |
