Sorry for not taking the time to do some really good research, as I know the info is in here, but in a bit of a rush, so I thought I would just put it out for all to comment on.

Are there any issues with the '03 Blast? Have the chance to acquire one with around 4,000 miles but do not want to purchase a money pit.

My '09 has 35,000 miles and I want a back-up plan.

Jeez Maggie you are a mileage Queen. That's roughly 90,000 miles on two Blasts. How come you didn't rebuild your '05?

Maggie,
You should be good to go with all of them. Just the usual things.....makes sure you re-jet it so it runs right, get a good set of tires but other than that it should have the good rocker cover gaskets and there have not been any ignition module problems like on the 2001.
Speaking of tires, how is the AM26 wearing on the rear of you Blast?

Sycho - the '05 sat for so long waiting for the time to break the motor and finally I just felt worse about it gathering dust. Had a friend who was without a ride and donated it in hopes of seeing it live again. He did tear it apart and the bottom end was completely gone. Don't know what's gonna happen now. Sad.

Swampy - howdy! Thanks to ya'll here I am running the MT75 on the rear and love it. The wear pattern so far is great and it is getting me more miles than the Road Rider. I will be ordering a replacement this week and will probably go with the same thing for front.

With age comes the lovely ability to loose one's recall...and reside in happy oblivion. EZ are you always right?

Doh!!

Yes, it's the ST66 & after 8,200 still has rubber.

Zane - great bike and no, never stay home, it's that living in oblivion thing

As far as rebuilding the engine is concerned, it can be cheaper to just find another low mileage Blast instead....and they are out there still, probably for years to come!

Hey Mac,

16,000 on my 03 and all I've done is replace boots, battery and tires. And it was a Rider's Edge bike for 900 miles, too!
