Awesome, doesn't seem like it's happening anymore! Here's my next project, I really like the blast, but I would like a little bit more height in the seat, just a bit. Anyone have any experience with increasing the height on the blast? New foam possibly? I might get some sculpting foam and give it a shot. I'll admit, it's mostly for looks to make the blast seem a bit bigger than it really is. It's not my performance bike, mostly by daily rider. |

Do you have the low or tall seat? Getting a Corbin can improve the looks and make the Blast look and feel like a bigger bike (my opinion). |

I think it's the regular 2002 seat. There's a somewhat clear pic of it there. Will do some research on the corbin, how different is it to the stock one? 671blast.wordpress.com (Message edited by 556blaster on September 13, 2010) |

find someone with a 2006+ seat. The foam is stiffer and you don't sink down as much. |

In case if you haven't heard, Pammy from Cycle Rama is organizing a group buy for the Scala Rider G4 Bluetooth system. More details including prices and payment options are here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?4062/591054 Please direct your questions to that thread just to make keeping track of this easier! A lot of the pics on this thread use the Corbin or click on the following links: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/197987.html?1127924645 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/147959.jpg http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/149622.jpg http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/144783.jpg http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/144470.jpg Corbins are also fully customizable in colours, textures, height, etc. (within reason). It used to be a minimal extra charge for custom, but its been a few years since I ordered one. The seat height is actually lower than the tall, but sits higher than the low. Due to stiffness, it also may sit higher than the tall seat if you have the extra cushy tall seat. |

Corbins are great, I had a gunfighter on my Suzuki GS650, but it's a bit pricey. I think before I shell out the moolah on the gunfighter, a set of rearsets would be more sensible, since they're on the list anyways, haha! Love the bikes, will give it a shot. |

IMHO, a Corbin seat is the most important accessory you can buy for a Blast. What good's a bike you can't sit on? |

Well, the comfort on my blast is perfectly fine, I just want it a little higher, for a slightly more aggressive ridign position. |

No seat is better than a overpriced poor quality Corbin. Also, I've ridden from NY to Boston and back several times with my stock normal height Blast seat. |

Corbins: love em or hate em! There doesnt seem to be a middle ground. I would invest in lower bars rather than a taller seat for a more aggressive riding position. Also, as someone previously wrote, get a later tall seat, then sell your old one. Tall seats sell for a premium and you'll likely get 75% of your money back selling the old one (if you buy brand new). 95% if you buy used!! |

Good advice here. Already got the daytona bars, maybe I should throw on my old dragbars or clubmans. (Message edited by 556blaster on September 14, 2010) |

I've seen superbike bars flipped over like clubmans and they fit well (dont know which brand). Flipping the daytonas probably wouldnt be as radical as the clubmans. Lots will fit if you dont care about locking the steering or 'steering lock'. Laverdas, Profi adjustable clip-ons, Crossroads, Raas clip-ons or just regular clip-ons are good choices if you have the extra cash available. The adjustable Laverdas & Profi's are really nice for dialing in your favourite position and being able to change back for some long distance riding. |

Has anyone used a Mikuni TM38 as an alternative carb for the Blast? I'm getting tired of messing with the CV40 and the autochoke crap... http://www.sudco.com/Carburetor/SudcoMikuniCatalog .pdf |

A CV 40 carb from any Harley will work just fine and are readily available, used, cheap. The Blast is the only HD/Buell that uses the "autochoke". With either the Mikuni or 'other' CV, you'll still lose the TPS, but that can be replaced with a vacuum operated VOES (or deleted altogether). Mikuni's have been used on Blasts (I know exactly where one sits right now), but a choke cabled CV 40 is a much easier swap. You can also hook a cable up to the enrichener. It takes a bit of work and ingenuity though (but simple in design really). Its been done by a fellow Badwebber. |

If you weigh a goodly amount, the Corbin seat is probably what you want. People less than, say, 180# might find the Corbin like sitting on a rock. I did and sold the Corbin to a 235# fella who loved the Corbin. I have heard it said that the Corbin takes a while to break in. I toured WA state on the stock regular seat and had no problems. |

Whats funny about seats is the opinion on comfort is not universal. I'm nowhere near 180 (yet) and I find the Corbins very comfortable and have yet to break one in. A "firm" seat works best for me. {still enjoying those pics of the Enfield, prof} |

HELP - I've added to the list of "dumb things I've done" and I now need a replacement for the windscreen on my Givi A760, problem is it does not look like they sell them anymore. Looking at pics the closest one is a A750 but it has only three bolts that attached the screen to the fairing, mine has 4. Anyone have one laying around?? Before:
And the reason I need a new screen:
Love bugs don't love me and next time I will be more careful when reaching for a sponge! |

Magster, that is funny, I did the same thing with the Uly the other day, I was trying to remove some duct tape residue....with brake kleen.....and......I etched the shield. So I had the big idea of taping it off and painting flat black below the damage...aaannnd...I painted the shield on the inside but the damage showed through to the outside, so this winter.....I will have to figure out how to fix it! Of course, you have no winter where you are. |

Thank you EZ, got my work cut out for me. I had looked at a couple of those links already, they talk about the A760 but show a pic of the A750, so calls will have to be made. Hi Swampy - Thumper was telling me about reading on the internet about being able to use fine grit sandpaper, continuing to get to finer and finer until you finally use a finish polish to bring the clarity back. This might work for you. But my WHOLE screen is messed up, so a replacement would make more sense. Sorry about the end of ride season. That is something I would really have a hard time dealing with. I have an addiction. Sycho - those are Love Bugs and the mess they leave behind can actually eat through paint and finishes. They swarm, stink and that pic is actually after we had done one good clean on way back from Waycross, Georgia. What you don't see is that when I got home, bucket and sponge in hand, my sponge had a scrub side to it. Not even thinking about it I just went to town trying to get all the bugs off. A 200 mile day, bugs, heat and I just wanted to rest. Got the bugs off, but my screen was left completely covered with fine scratches, to a milky white finish. Crap, I still can't believe I did it. Will continue my search for replacement plastic or suitable replacement. Thanks ya'll for help. |
