Very cool Andy, hows the ride? |

Controlled and even acceleration at low RPM's (something that the fazer lacks...I have to get above 5K to get a good reaction out of her). Amazing balance, upright riding position, nimble at lane changes. Still have that unmistakable thumper vibration, and a very pronounced transmission. Not the quiet "click click click" of the Fazer, but more of the ka-CHUNK, reminiscent of the ol' Blast. Oh yes, and I rode in single digits today. |

Nice bike Andy. It was too bad that they eventually killed the belt drive for that model-so you got a good one A better all around bike would be very hard to find. |

What's up guys, I got a "new" bike! I bailed out on the cbr600rr deal due to lack of funds. I sold my BLAST for a great price, and bought a 1990 Suzuki GSX-R 750. It has a 90 oil cooled engine and frame, 92 inverted forks, swing arm and body. It needs some TLC but I knew that when I bought it. The engine only has 19,000 original miles on it, it starts right up every time and and pulls HARD, the trans is very smooth as well. I love this bike, it is F'ing FAST!!! I actually sold my BLAST for more money than what I paid for the Gixxer. I'll post pics if anyone's interested, but I wanted to thank everyone on this forum for all the help and knowledge I received during the time I spent here. I may not have a BLAST anymore but I'll still be around. Thanks again guys, BADWEB 4 LIFE lol |

Thanks Andy, no it's not purple though. Someone sprayed it Grey over the original Blue/White, What a sin. I'm going to spray the body Black and put some Red Yoshimura Suzuki 750 decals on it. I need to replace the petcock, front rim/tire and fork seals then I can't wait to hit the highway. Andy, this thing is a fire breathing dragon! LOL, Is your Fazer an in line 4? |

That's cool Andy. What exactly would you call the BMW? A dual sport or what? |

It's unofficially called the "Scarver" for Street Carver. CS stands for City/Street Not sure about dual sport as that would imply it could go offroad - I think it was intended to stay on pavement/asphalt/well paved/well packed surfaces. Taking it offroad would present lots of challenges for that belt drive as one sharp rock could pierce a hole in it or tear it. Maybe just a "standard" bike, much like my Yamaha. Actually, this was my first motorcycle, which I got for my 12th birthday (but I had to make the down payment with my babysitting money.) Yamaha GT80, 1978 model, pictures taken in 1979 after I got my leg cast removed. I was riding on the back of my friend's Honda XR75 when she ran out in front of a car and we got hit.
AND now... me on my dad's BSA in West Virginia, about 1970. (Somebody stole this motorcycle from him... sad.)

Here's the 2010 Royal Enfield Bullet C5 getting set up today for tomorrow's purchase, at Royal Enfield Seattle (aka Ducati Seattle):

Yeah, I really dig that bike. Just enough new stuff and old looks to look like the funky little British single it is (was?). |

As of today the 2010 Royal Enfield Bullet Classic C5 is mine. I put 54 miles on it and it seems stronger new than I remember my Blast when I first rode it. Karla the lovable rottie is on the lookout for bad guys. A larger headlamp and a visor are on the way.
And an obligatory "style" shot:

The shifting on the Enfield is MUCH smoother than the Blast. Going into 1st gear from neutral doesn't give the CLUNK I remember so well (I used to hold the clutch in for 5 seconds before shifting into 1st, to avoid the clunk.) and going from 1st to 2nd is smoother. I'm still getting used to the handling. The pegs don't seem as low as the Blast's but I'll check that on a certain dog-leg left soon. |

The Bullet now has 200 miles and after a 120 mile ride today it showed 81 mpg for the tank. Heh, wait until it is broken in. It is a blast to ride!

Here's another 499cc shot, this one overlooking Puget Sound a little north of Seattle. The Royal Enfield will soon have a larger headlamp and visor, and maybe new silencer which isn't as silent as the stock one. Oh, I haven't had to adjust and oil a chain since I had the 883 Sportster back in '86 to '92! Very retro. Very cool.
