I left my Blast on when parked and drained the battery (1 month old) to totally nothing. I have a maintenance charger that I connected and let it run 14 hours, and after that there was only enough power to run the speedo. It was even short of power to run the horn. Am I looking at a new battery or do I need to charge it with a car battery charger? |

BATTERY Class 101: When you buy a NEW BATTERY you have no idea how long it sat on the shelf, if not on the concrete floor(metal rack) ... SO, you put it on charge for 24 hours ... After the charge your battery is at 100% float ... If you completely DISCHARGE the battery and it WILL take a charge(use a car charger) your battery loose's 20% of its capacity(now at 80% at float) ... THEREFORE, and you you completely discharge your battery again it drops 20% (now 60% at float) ... This goes on until the battery does not have the cranking volts and/or AMPERES to start your engine and it is buy a new battery time ... Due to the fact that motorcycle batteries are so small, one should keep the battery on TRICKLE CHARGE when not riding ... "MAY THE LONG LASTING BATTERY BE WITH YOU !!!" |

Titusand, I didn't realize you were in Michigan! What Buellistic says. When you go to replace your battery make absolutly certain it is an AGM battery and has no acid that needs to be put in, caps, acid pack or a vent. Lead acid batterys are so 18th century I don't even know why they are still available. Alot of stores will sell AGM technology battery but they will have an acid pack. An AGM battery should come fully charged and ready to use. But, check your battery connections first. Take your battery to someplace like an Action Auto and have it tested, some times you get an internal open that will cause a cell or two to drop out. Good luck |
