The speedometer / odometer works about 90% of the time ... always fires up with a faint buzz when I turn on the key. It may work all day ... then again I may look down to discover no speed registered and no digits in the odometer ... ten seconds later it's back on again. The plug connections under the speedometer and under the seat both looked clean & dry when I inspected them ... sending unit loose maybe ??? Like I say ... it works just fine 90% of the time ... |

Dirty or loose sending unit above and behind front pulley - try cleaning with brake cleaner fluid. If that doesn't work, plan on replacing it soon enough - no biggie - 5 minutes work. EZ |

That speedometer problem was due to the voltage regulator / rectifier trying to send 18.3 volts to the system ... changed out the defective unit and everything is operating just fine now ... |
