I've found this on the net - saved a copy, and posted it for others to save as well! Create a folder specifically and only for these PDF files - this way they will interact with each other. Don't add anything else. From the main topic file (last file in list - download from last to first listed) you can navigate to any section in the book. Hope this helps! - this is in no way an advertisement or sales item but only for our specific reference to the topics on this board - Enjoy! (you don't have to be a Yahoo member to view these files). Still looking for a free public file holder available to the public so I could post it there, for now this will have to do. Its amazing what you find on the net! Posting it here would not be wise because of space limitations and not wanting to cause BADWEB any problems. It lookes like it was scaned into PDF format and made interactive - nice set up - I've not found any copywrite on it, but then I'm not selling or promoting it either, just making it available for usage as a tool for this website, etc. - I figured it could help and since scaned 90 % of a book is still not the book per say, and the fact that it would help a world of Blast owners weighed in favor of putting it up somewhere for us as well. Its not as if that would be the only place to have it posted! Its everywhere! - lol Enjoy! Got Thump? Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ edited by ezblast on May 10, 2004 |

Just a quick note here about the manual. First, it's great to have access to this info and appreciate it, but I did run across one spot in it that is wrong regarding clutch adjustment. The diagram in section 1.9 (1-12) shows the primary chain tensioner adjustment screw as the one for making adjustments to the clutch. The correct screw is a small screw located in the center of the lockplate & spring just behind the inspection cover and is not shown in the diagram. The rest of the information appears to be correct. Found this out the hard way and wound up having to retension the primary chain again Russ |

Be sure to use the page in the manual and let the folks at Technincal Publications know. The process for trying to weed out the bugs prior to printing is pretty good, but comes at a very busy time of the year to allow engineers to proof read.

OK - lets list here anything we find as inconsistant or incorrect Primary tension needs to be set 3 to 5 flats further out. Speck on header stud nut is incorrect. Oil pressure range is incorrect. thats just off the top of my mind - I'm sure there are others - typo's excluded, unless they effect a value. - lol Overall its not bad - unclear on a few things - but that is part of what the board is for - clarification or new ideas - as well as making friends along the way - lol GT - JBOTDS! 99573-02Y is for the 2002 model year. 99573-00Y is probably the 2000 model year. Plenty usually on ebay. www.chicagoharley.com can check part #s there. Most parts are the same but some are superceded, recalled or changed. |

If you haven't had the pully/belt redone by the dealership for free - then please do so for your safety's sake - it was the only recall item - happened early in 2000 production and should have been done, but check to make sure - the 2000 belt is a no go for any Blast - 2000 and up if the recall pully was done. You got shafted Kat sorry to say. GT - JBOTDS! EZ (Message edited by ezblast on December 14, 2004) |
