Amen on the Jeep! I had a 99 wrangler and now I have an 05 Liberty diesel. I love it and wouldn't dream of owning anything else.(maybe a new Dodge Charger) I also have been looking at the Bonneville and Thruxton. I haven't had a chance to ride one yet but I'm looking forward to it real soon. I figure you can never have too many bikes, there are just so many different types and styles how do you decide on just one!? Motorcycles are like shoes, a different pair for different occasions! |

let me know your impression once you see the triumphs! I just can pick the one I like the best, the bonneville, the scrambler or the thruxton (isn't that a mouthful or what?? Triumph Thruxton!!! LOL!!! sorry French is my 1st language so some words easily amuse me just thinking about how they would sound coming out of my mouth I had a '95 wrangler, LOVED it, was pretty bare bone, could feel every little bump on the road and was leaking when I had the soft top on but it broke my heart when I left it behind to move to the USA bought a '97 Cherokee the 1st month I was here,(cant go too long when I am JEEPless...LOL) sold it at 250k (still runs last I knew) and now I've been driving a 2001 limited Cherokee for the past few years I wish they still made them! ok I am done talking JEEP....LOL |

If you want a true Bonneville purchase a 1974 onward T140V ( The original US Spec' Bonneville made in Meridian for the American Market. ) The 1974 + range have the gear lever on the LHS. Models prior to 1974 are RH gear changers. Vertical twin, 750 cc. Twin carbs and crappy electrics. They run like a Brit' bike, sound like a Brit' bike, leak oil like a Brit' bike, come with a kick starter and are great handling/very responsive machines. They take a fair amount of TLC but, if treated right, can be very dependable. The "new" Bonnevilles are much more "Asian centric". All mod' con's, reliable electrics, heavier and less good in the twisties than the '74 onward T140V. Reliable, fun to own and fast. ( Not as fast as Asian machines of an equivalent size. ) I would own a "new" Bonneville if I ever come across $9,000 I have no other use for but the original T140V is my hearts desire. Disclaimer: I am a Brit' and I love the T140V to death. Chris C |

Kick starting is a religious experience. You pray it starts, you pray it doesnt kick back and you pray it doesnt stall in traffic. |

Or, you live on the 500 ft contour of the Thames Valley and you start by rolling it down the hill towards the river in 1st and just "pop" the clutch. (It's a heck of a push back up if it doesn't start though.) Chris C |

Well, if you're really asking, the point of this thread was lost a few 'archives' ago. Most of this stuff should be on the front page! It does take a lot of work to just try and keep this site organized so people can find the information they are looking for. |

'92 Cherokee, 315000+ miles. Dodge Charger? Looks like the Chrysler 300. Dodge Challenger for me! What were we talking about? |

Opps..Challenger was what I meant. However, a new Camaro would be nice too! (sigh). Being realistic though, the Blast is probably more fun in the mountains, no throwing yourself into doors going around curves! |

The Challenger is bigger, more comfortable and cooler! With a 5.7L 6 speed, it's rated at 25MPG on the highway. The Blast is definitely more suited to curves! |

Those Challengers are dope, so are the new Camaro's. If I had to choose I would go with the Challenger. |

glad you liked it garlic! it made me laugh too!! So awhile back I was asking some questions about the XB9 and Erick informed me that the XB12scg had the lowest seat of the Buell line up (other than the blast) so we drove to the HD dealership so I could sit on one They didnˇ¦t have the scg but the SS, it was close enough to give me a good idea, I was tiptoeing it so I am sure the scg would be fine since it is 2¨ lower. Now, the Xb9 has a seat of 30.3 (the 2006 I think ) but I think that might be a tad too tall for me, any way I can get it lower with a seat??!! I don't want to get into lowering kits if possible. I would really like to go with the city cross instead of the XB12, but after calling the insurance company last night, they both quoted the same price so I don't know |

Erick informed me? "I have no memory of it"! You can probably get a lower version of the seat or get that one modified. It all depends on how much padding is in the seat and if there are any protrusions into the seating area (IE: If you look at the underside of the Blast seat, just above where the battery terminals are, is a rounded out section in the seat pan for the battery. That limits how low you can make the Blast seat in that area). Check out the website of Corbin, Sargents, etc. and other seat makers and even e-mail them. I'll bet you wont be the first to ask the question. |

Posted on Monday, June 15, 2009 - 10:45 am: -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ the new 9's are 30" - with the low seat 28.5" - ....... Posted on Monday, June 15, 2009 - 10:45 am: ------ Check out the 12 SCG - add a low seat to that and your at Blast height. EZ ooopppssss, it wasn't you, it was EZ that gave the details about seat heights, sorry (archive of june 18 2009--blastard are we) us 3 were going back and forth with replies therefore the confusion remember that I mentioned a Suzuki Gladius and got you a little riled up saying Ducati inspiration?? LOL well, its the same tread anyway, I am really thinking about getting an XB for next season (maybe in buying in march) so I might be asking questions until then |

Straight fact - Corbin could get you lower with a custom seat as well - the price of a Blast seat and custom modified seats are pretty close, for an XB it could be a hundred dollars either way - figure 4 to 6 to get a maxed out low seat that still allows for distance traveling - they always do a great job with a few modifications - if for a Blast. So with the low seat you should get to 28 on a nine, and Corbin could probably bring you 27, on an SCG that would be even 2" lower all the way around - making the lowest Buell between 25 to 26 - thats pretty low for such a serious bike - the SCG get an added handling bonus from a tad lower cg - lol - EZ |

I'd be fine @ 29", this is how tall my ninja was. Like I posted in the main thumper forum, I am not feeling Buell so much right now but who knows, I've been wanting an XB for awhile so I might no be able to resist when times come...BUT I am checking out other bikes: Triumph Speed four, (Bonneville, Scrambler as well), Ninja 250 new gen, Ninja 650R and some other naked ones...any suggestions?! But of course nothing that I like as well as the XB9. Maybe we will all be surprised when the 2010 line up is revealed, who knows?! |

Congrats Sycho. Pretty soon you'll need to rig up a little basket to the front of your bike to carry him/her? around. You can get some small goggles and a scarf for them too. lol |
