Seems awfully complicated to me. Why not just replace the boot and go riding? |

If it's any help, I'm running a 2005 xb head with a piston from a 984, cams are se. The head was milled .020. The rod of the blast is a little longer than the 984. Compression is 11 to 1 |

That is good to know! Which SE cam - the 530 (similar to the B-70) or the 550 which is same as the stock XB? EZ |

Hey does anybody know if a Cyclone Flyscreen can be used on a Blast? Just wondering if the headlights are the same size? |

Here this link answers the question - the gentler ramped 550 XB style cam. http://www.nrhsperformance.com/tech_ecamsvs536cams .shtml EZ |

Ez, I did have to go to adjustable pushrods, I was losing compression through the valves without them, and yes there is some valve train noise |

Well - yes you did with those - I would have went with the XB pushrods myself for the 550 se, however, the 530 se would run the Blast pushrods - no problem. EZ |

Hi All. Just got my first Buell Blast. It's a 2000 with 8200 miles. The bike was great for the first week put about 300 miles on it. All of sudden bike started sputtering and backfiring through the carb during moderate acceleration and cut out. Then would not start had to trailer home. I pulled the carb but it was clean as a whistle with good gas flow. Put everything back together replaced plug and the bike starts and idles fine but during moderate acceleration again I can hear backfiring through carb. Very slow acceleration and wide open bike runs fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Thanks for the input. After reading a few post I sorta figured that was the problem. Off to Harley of Annapolis for the infamous boot. |

Possibly moving up. OK, so I can't afford a new Uly. But I am dying to move on up to something a bit bigger. A local guy has a couple of 2006 suzuki's for sale. One is a GS500F, and the other is a GSX650F. Both are in excellent condition, and he wants $4k for each. Thoughts? What should I be looking for when I test ride them? Anything in particular with these two models? |

For a thousand less, you can find a tube-framed Buell, and be way ahead on all counts. Just takes a little looking. Try Craigslist. |

Fahren is right on a TUBE FRAME BUELL ... The TUBE FRAMEs that have a carburetor are very owner friendly like a BLAST ... There is a lot help and information the TUBE FRAME Site ... The M2 Cyclone is like a BLAST with another cylinder ... |

and for $4k you could also find an XB too. Also looks to be a little overpriced, where used XB's and Tubers are (usually) underpriced. The beginning of riding season is also the very worst $$ time to buy. aircooled vs watercooled. Any more discussion of Susucki's belong in the Blastphemy section.... |

Hey Superman, don't go back to the stock boot, get the superboot from Thump-e and you may never need another one. Just search ebay for "Buell Blast Custom Intake Boot." I've been running one since Dan started making them and have had no problems since installing it. |

An 98' White S1W is still the dream to own for many Buell riders - the official first Hooligan bike/street fighter.

Dan's Superboot is really nice along with his other stuff.
Here's my recent mods: Race Exhaust, Thumpe's setup with 48/170 Jetting. It's a pleasant difference in performance.

Nice - Dan's approach is a very nice alternative over stock - now ditch the Dunlops - lol - seriously, for safety's sake ditch em. EZ |

You know with his intake 175 should be doable - even with that Pro series - I ran 175 with the D&D, old style filter/stack combo, the D&D header and the Pro-series header are very simular, except the Pro-series ends sooner for room for the twin can exhaust loosing some of the umph that extra length provides. I'd try it. EZ |

Dan's superboot: love them. Want one. But every time I see one posted, I get spooked about interference with my right leg/knee, both from the comfort standpoint and worrying about knocking the carb around by hitting the assembly with my knee. Something about intakes and my right knee...not just for the Blast. I just can't deal with the knocking. Even though this Hypercharger came with the bike when I bought it, I know eventually it'll have to make way for a forcewinder, just for the knee room:

Dan's intake is not the superboot. The superboot can be used with any Blast intake, even the stock airbox. It just holds the carb to the manifold. |

I have a set of Pirelli's in the shed, I have to just swap them out. Yes and the Superboot only replaces the original boot as seen in my first picture, to the right of the carb. The intake and breather are extras that Dan sells. |

Any good utility for searching multiple craigslist cities? Nothing on the XB or Tubeframe market here in the Indy area in the same price range. |
