I'm a Buell guy, X1 and now an 1125R. My adult daughter is interested in getting a bike, and the Blast seems a great choice IMO. She's spent many hours on bikes, but never on the front end of the seat. I see ads for "P3" Blasts, but I don't know if they are different. Are they all P3's? How does one distinguish (remotely) between the regular and lower seat height? Any input from the Thumper crew is appreciated. Thanks in advance!! Mike | ||

the low seat between the standard seat is 2" difference. With the low seat, the operator has a seat height of approximately 25. | ||

Kenrulloda, thanks for the info. She's not real tall, so I'm thinking the lower seat height would be good. Is there a way to know which is which if buying one site unseen ... Special model number (Low?), etc? I've been researching "P3" today, and still haven't figured out if it's anything different than a standard model Blast. Mike | ||

Not a problem Milleniumx1. Prior to Buell being discontinued, the last recorded Buell stock number for the low profile seat I found is "M0127.TA" The 2008 catalog has the seat listed for $111.00. I'm sure you can get it for significantly less. It's designed to fit Blasts '00 and later. | ||

I think all Blasts are P3. Even the standard seat is pretty low - maybe 27 or 28 inches. | ||

Wife has an 09 Blast(P3),she's 5'4" and is flat footed with the standard seat. Another option would be a Ninja 250 or a Honda Rebel. | ||

Got it - The seat height difference is just the seat itself, nothing else. That makes it much easier. Now I can look for the best bike / price and improve as needed. That sounds just like the Buell experience I've grown to love! Mike | ||

FWIW: Low seats are a dime-a-dozen. 'Tall' seats sell at a premium. Dont base your purchase on the seat. The low seats are cheap, easy to come by and seats are very easy to change-less than a minute-no tools required! | ||

I have a Blast & an X1. My wife (5'4") is currently learning to ride the Blast. We have a low seat for her & an aftermarket Sergeant seat for me (I'm 6'1"). It takes no time at all to swap seats. I use the Blast for my daily 30 mile commute. The Blast is an deal learners bike and is easy to upgrade for not to many $$$. If you have ever worked on your X1 the Blast will be fairly intuitive as both bikes share a lot of parts. Ride safe, Chris C | ||
