Easier. You don't have to yank the tank -- which does have an alternate meaning that we won't discuss on this forum. |

Everything depends. If I have enough $ and don't have to work every weekend, I'd love to go. Got a question: I'm planning next summer's long awaited ride to Michigan on the Blast. Have all the soft luggage but wondered two things: anyone use a throttle lock and what kind? And, anyone make highway pegs for their Blast? |

Probably the best thing you can do is get a good seat. Next, when you get here, stop off at the bike shop(you know which one) buy a handle bar of your choice and bring it over to my house(I live on the south west side now) and I will put them on for you. Then we ride! You are not going to need highway pegs, just vary your feet from front pegs to passenger pegs and you will be fine! |

Sounds like deal. I'm used to the stock bars on the B, but superbike bars would probably feel better, maybe some handguards for the winter. |

I don't know of any flat-black Blasts, at least not in 2003. I have a 2003 that is bone stock and it's fairly shiny with Buell decals. It appears that they've removed the inner fender from the rear wheel as well, a modification that's common. The rest appears stock, including the exhaust. You might ask why the paint job. |

Rainman, it's not necessary to yank-the-tank. Most box wrenches will access the plug without. On the "custom" bike, 'custom' typically only appeals to the creator of that custom... _____________________ Firing order: 1 |

Styx wants to go faster with a better ride 'swat it looks like to meh. Envy would be the word I believe I am looking for...LoL Rainman - For a throttle lock, I saw/found a really cheap and easy idea that apparently works really well and one that I am actually gunna do myself. From Froggy on the Quick Board, "I use a Crusty edition O-ring. Slide it between the grip and bar end when I want to lock, and flick of a wrist it comes back out." -

I am guessing you are going to cut the rider pegs off of the y arms and leave them attached for the passenger? wait a second, how are you mounting the passenger pegs? i though there wasn't any aftermarket pegs for the blast. (Message edited by crackhead on December 08, 2009) |

Thanks for your input so far on the "custom" we're looking at. Looks like a rattle can paint job. Our top bid is going to be around $1650. She already thinks she wants to put a Firebolt fairing on it. |

Stick with the 5 speed, back cut the gears, and instead get a Baker drum shift kit for a Buell/Sportster. They have reverse shift kits as well - all would fit a Blast and go for 250 retail and they would infinitely increase both the reliability of the Transmission and its shifting ability - reported to be buttery smooth and precise by every Buell owner who made the change over - see general KV. The 1" lower set is probably more for rear set applications, the regular height would be the ticket. EZ |
