Well for the first time my Blast has died. the worst part is it died while letting a friend borrow it for the day. problem is this: Bike turns over just fine and I can smell gas if I twist the throttle. No problem getting gas. Bike has just over 3K on the clock so I doubt that compression is a problem. In a rush I put my dirtbike sparkplug on the wire and turned it over. I didn't see any spark at all. I have already bypassed the kickstand switch and that didn't help. I have to recheck this to make sure there isn't any spark though. The problem happened while my buddy was riding it. He was going down the road and went to turn right and the bike just died. I haven't looked into it yet as this just happened Sunday and I got the bike back yesterday. I just bypassed the kickstand switch because I thought that would be the problem. I'm going to do some digging into it when I get home from work and am looking for some insight before i do. Thanks, Jim |

Flip the center Diode - to eliminate the clutch safety, check boot for correct instalation, check grounds. EZ |

I was thinking the clutch diode but it will turn over once I engage the clutch and won't turn over if I don't so I didn't think it would be an issue. I'll flip it anyway though. Boot is OK, forgot to mention I checked it yesterday. I'll check the grounds. I am also going to bypass the BAS, just in case. |

Ok so I finally had a little time to work on it tonight. So I removed the plug from the bike and turned it over, still no spark. Flipped the clutch diode and plugged in another coil pack. (I have a box of spare parts for it that I bought on Ebay a while ago.) Still no spark. The kickstand switch is by-passed and so is the clutch switch. On my last ride to work on Friday I somehow lost the timing cover on the bike. When I just tried to see if it had spark, the light on the module under the timing cover blinks as I am turning it over. I'm guessing that light is when it sends the spark? I can't for the life of me find the F*&$#$G Service manual anywhere. I have the one for my Bolt but the Bolt doesn't have the module like the Blast does. Anyone know what sort of voltage I am suppose to get on the connector that plugs into the coil pack. It's a 3 prong wire. I gotta find that stupid service manual. |

Oh and it hasn't rained at all in the last week so I don't think that the module got wet at all. |

Well I finally got around to working on the Blast a bit yesterday, it helps having multiple bikes. I tried cleaning the ground and fully charging the battery. still no spark. Is the BAS the little box that the positive battery cable connects to? |

If you're talking about the little box that is right beside the battery, that's not it. Look under the part that is under the seat, directly above the tire. |
