Yeah, just until I get a new speed sensor... easy numbers for 5th gear: 6500 = 96mph, so 3250 = 48mph (city streets) halfway in between gives: 4875 = 72mph (highway) Not having the neutral light has actually made me a better rider! LOL Same thing kinda goes for lack of turn signal indicator, but lack of odometer just plain sux! The EQUUS tach fits right into the stock housing, using an extra rubber ring to give it more depth. The angle is wrong though - had to drill new screw holes and expand the hole for the wiring. |

Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum. I have read through the archive. Seems that some of the posts are older. I have found the J&P link for the tach http://www.jpcycles.com/ProductDetail.aspx?source= local_search&PID=560-080&cs=All Is that still a good link? I just want to make sure that is the tach everyone is talking about? Seems that everyone thinks it is fairly reliable. Also, someone posted about http://www.autobarn.net/ieqper338tac.html Anyone know if this tach works? Someone said that it will work for 1 - 12 cylinder. Thanks much! Easy riding to everyone. |

yes, that 2nd one is what I have mounted in the stock speedo cup, pictured above. Works great, got it at O'reilley auto parts for $70 |

Completely edited post: I had originally asked if anyone had any info on a shift light. (I have seen the sequential ones that American Sport Bike sells, but that isn't what I want). I found the info if anyone else wants it...MSD sells one that will work with any engine..and it is programmable and small..the only question is how well will one deal with the vibration?? Guess I will find out (Message edited by fast1075 on September 05, 2008) |

I believe in the racing section (probably drag racing) of Badweb there was a bunch of stuff on shift lights. Dont remember where, didnt save the posts. Fairly recent I think. |

ok, my speedo/odo is not working. im pretty sure my sensor is bad, but i did the diagnostic test: Now from each reset button push the speedometer will test the following: d01 Speed sensor power output shorted low d02 Speed sensor power output shorted high or open d02 is bad. what does that mean and what is the culprit? |

Means you have a broken wire or, more likely, a dead sensor. |

My neutral light is acting up. It wasnt coming on at all this morning and on my ride then when I parked it only comes on when on kick stand or leaning the other way but not when bike is straight up. |

Possible kickstand sensor or something? I would think the bike would fail to start it it was the safety switch... I don't know. |

Ok, I wiggled a few of the wires, still coated with oil leaking from the airbox. It seams a little better. Tomorrow I will degrease that whole area and clean it to see if that might have something to do with it. |

The neutral switch is by the countershaft sprocket under the countershaft cover, if you are in neutral and either the light is or is not on, and you lean the bike to the left or the right and there is a change in the light, you may possibley have a loose shift drum retainer plate bolt. If the retainer plate becomes loose it will allow the shift drum to slide left and right making the switch flicker also your shifts may become sloppy and finding neutral will become a little more difficult. |

Swampy, as a matter of fact my neutral light does sometimes flicker while idling, like when warming up or when I get off to unlock front door and leave bike on. Shifting I have no problem with and can even locate neutral shifting down from 2nd. |

When i click the directional turn switch to either right or left, the directional indicator on the speedo cluster always indicates the right directional is on. The directional work, its just the indicator on the instrument cluster that is wrong. Anyone have any ideas on how to diagnose this problem? The Blast in under warranty still so i'll have it looked for the 1K service but if it was something simple to diagnose/fix before hand i'd love to learn about it. thanks! Ira |

i think there is 1 bulb for both directions. thus both directions should light up together. try rideing at night, both directions should be visible then. |

Wow...pretty lame All the owners manual says The green turn signal indicator indicator (3) flashes when a turn signal is activated. The flashing arrows indicate the turn signals are in use. a bit misleading ...i would think it would say which direction is in use...Well,i guess thats good that nothing is wrong. thanks for the help. |

I plan to have a directional arrow in my new dash. Once I get done with these signal setups I'm doing, I'll get it done and post pictures. May be a few months... |
