The shims have to be the same O.D. or smaller than the "flange" on the needle in order for them to fit properly...it's hard to explain, but if you look at the needle and slide, you will see what I mean....what the shims did for me was cure the off idle flat spot that was very annoying... |

Stock Blast headlight brackets? $40+? Retail should be about $14 each side. With shipping, a site sponsor could get you new ones cheaper than that set on ebay. |

What makes it even more funny is that they aren't even new! they are off a 2000. Which site sponser should I check out? |

Any of the Buell dealers can get you those parts. Look thru the list here and find one close to you. You can call most and they'll ship you the parts too. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/171 43/17143.html?1234373322 |

Thanks EZ, I owe you one! Even though is dark foggy and raining, I'm smiling! Big change form last month! I just stopped by the Big Kids shop and they had a new Kawa Super Motard in 250cc with a set of Fly-n-Cycle dual head lights, they looked good and had H4 bulbs in them. Lets see if they melt. |

Beautiful day yesterday here in Killwaukee, 60 and sunny. Took advantage of it and got some much needed riding done as well as some body mods. Chopped tail, installed Brymars, chopped windscreen (wasnt gonna pay $70 for a new one), new front signals. Today is a whole different story. 40 and rainy, so not gonna be able to install the flush mount rears. Put her back in garage and covered her up til the next break in weather. Still waiting on my rearsets, am63s, and Berkshires widget bars to be delivered, then Im done with the bod. On to more performance mods after that. Gotta shrink up the pics and Ill get em up here

Wow! Didn't know the Blast was capable of a wheelie. Only time my front wheel even remotely did something like that I was taking off from a dead stop and was a bit enthusiastic about getting going and it came up like 2 inch's off the ground. |

Subvert. Wow! I really like what you did with the lighting. The two smaller headlamps make a big impression over the one big one that comes factory. I like it 10 times over! Same for the front blinkers. Very nice, indeed. |

Indy - you should see the Ducati supercharged one! - lol Roysbuell - you should snap your wrist faster to full throttle and hold on - that wheel will raise - experience. EZ (Message edited by ezblast on February 11, 2009) |

I used to think that the Blast engine in a tuber frame was the hot cheap ticket to a decent racebike. Then I saw the Bartels bike (not pictured) throw a connecting rod, which in turn blew out the bottom of the crankcase, which tore off the front shock mount (shock mounts to the engine case), sending the shock into the ground potentially vaulting the rider. I didnt see the crash and heard the pilot was okay. But thats a really scary thing to have happen. Kinda puts a dampener on making a full race screamer with that engine frame combo. I have no knowledge of how well the tubers actually did in racing and if losing the front shock mount was common, it was scary looking though. |

EZ - teasing us with those California mountain roads?? Can't wait until I can return to the west, hopefully next summer. BTW - havn't seen that pic in a while - but love the road, it's one of my favorites, as well as a favorite of the Bellamy Brothers. Wishing sunshine and warm weather to all those who are waiting for it. My sunny two cents...

Headlight mounting brackets pt# M0671.TA (left), M0672.TA (right). Yes $14 each! There are some minor differences between a few years, but all are interchangeble. E-bay has some really great deals and some really great rip offs. Watch how much turn signals go for! (I've seen them go for 3X the price of new) |
