Holy smokes was it cold this morning! My thermometer at home went "OFL" sometime overnight and tonight/tomorrow will be colder. I even wore a winter coat. (typically I work outside and wear a sweater or two and a warm vest) It had 'warmed up' to 22 below zero by the time I got to work. My question is again about oil filters. Who here uses what kind of oil filters? Is there a way to start a poll? Thanks in advance, ______________________ Firing order: 1 |

Man it's cold here too...it's barely 55. There was some white crunchy stuff on the lawn this morning...looked like frost, but frost only happens in the freezer...right? It's gonna get into the 20's here tonight. That, my friends is seriously cold down here...I'll be bundled up like an eskimo tomorrow...Brrrrr.... It's only happened one or twice in my memory, but if you want to see some funny stuff....come watch native Floridians try to drive on an iced up road...thats lawn chair and popcorn entertainment right there... |

Yea its cold here too only made it to 62 degrees yesterday. This weekend another cold front will push through dropping the temperature to the low 40's. So I might not be able to ride this weekend. But if it makes anyone feel any better I used to live in Chicago and winter mornings consisted of me getting out of bed and scrapping the ice off the inside of my bedroom window to see if there was enough snow to turn on the radio to listen for school snow days. |

I use whatever oil filter is available. If I'm putting an online order together from a dealer or American Sport Bike, I'll throw an oil filter on there. I dont take the chance of putting 'whatever fits' on and I make sure that if I cross reference a filter I double check the application (for instance a filter might have a bypass valve incompatible with the Blast). Oil is Redline. Its been 80+ degrees for about a week now. |

Its great here in Cali - who'll be ready to ride!? For the past 4 rides it has always been a private group thing - usually just Blastards, though hopefully there will be a 620 Duc with us as well, and maybe an XB. The group from the North - thats my group - meets a group of Blastards from the South - led by Erik O. - he races the bikes - Willows and such - one day of the ride is to make it a ride to get there - that route is going to deliver a world of twisties, in some areas where you may not see another car in an 40 min.s time. The next day is a day of riding together as a bigger group - enjoying the roads, and maybe checking out the Sovran Motorcycle Museum for a couple hours, then heading back and hitting one of the best Rib joints in Cali - Mo's - where the ribs and beer flow - since we walk the few blocks from the hotel! The third day we say our goodbyes and the Northern group heads for the Coast and HWY 1, where we would slowly peal off towards our prospective homes - the Coast is most always a great ride! That is the SLO ride! I have 4 rooms reserved at the Travelodge in San Lois Obispo for the nights of the 24th and 25th - April 24, 25, 26 - those would probably be shared rooms, if you want a room to yourself - I would suggest calling them! Join us for a Really good time! Lets ride! The Northern to SLO Route: http://www.mapquest.com/mq/3-F1yN http://www.mapquest.com/mq/1-Y3HOyvaEAE7q4QdrKIyZ Coming back from SLO is simply going up hwy 1 and then peeling off for home! EZ |

Hope you SLO riders have fun. If any of you are in the southeast and hate that you can't go all the way to Cali, some Buellers are meeting up that same weekend to camp and ride at Tail of the Dragon. PM me for details. |

God, I just got back from riding my Blast. It is approximately 12 degrees right now. It took a while to start up. But once it warmed up a little, the ride was kind of nice--albeit cold. This is only my second ride in weather below 35 this year. I will try to take the bike out every week, but I think that I will wait until it warms up to 35+. Brrr. |

I got a short ride today, rare for January. About 25 miles, just enough to get my fix. It was 47, downright balmy after Friday's single digit temps. |

Wow...yesterday was such a nice day for a ride once it warmed up some..we have been real lucky...the cold fronts have been coming during the week and passing by the weekend. 60 degrees, bright and sunny...so myself and a couple of friends hit all the twisty roads in the area... Anyway...I got SCHOOLED...by a Pickup Truck!!! Now I will be the first to admit that by modern standards a Blast is a snail in the straights, but I have never been outpunched by a cage, at least light to light ..anyways...As I was going to make a left turn up a long straight road through the woods (new road, no side streets yet and no traffic) on the way to the next set of twisties, there was a truck coming that I figured was going thru the intersection because he didn't have his turn signal on...so I waited for him to go past before I made my turn..instead of going past, he turned up the road I was waiting to turn up...kinda miffed me off...him not using his turn signal...SOOOOO...I decided I would blast past him. As I went to pass him...he got on it...I noticed two things...the black exhaust smoke that poured out and the sewer pipe sized exhaust pipe...then the rear end squirrelled around some as the tires spun...I ran hard,,,WFO...hitting the rev limiter in each gear...and the truck just kept pulling ahead...I gave up and lifted when I hit the fifth gear rev limit...I was astonished!!!! One of my buddies that had been in trail on a 1 litre superbike ran him down...but he said he had to get to 120+ to pass the truck!!! BTW the truck was a Ford F350 2wd with a Powerstroke diesel...If I ever see that truck again, I gotta find out what that dude has done to it....awesome boost, nitrous, propane, voodoo, who knows... that was the baddest truck I have ever seen anywhere (on the street)... |

All he probably did was change the rear gearing. You would be surprised the amount of power those things can lay down with a properly geared transmission and rear gear. |

A friend's son has a Chevy 4x4 with turbo mods, a power programmer and propane injection....and it's not a fast as that beast was yesterday....I am suitably impressed. |
