I would like to thank everyone on this website for the help and general knowledge. I was able to learn a lot just reading the posts. I picked up my 09 Blast a couple of weeks ago and just love it. I have only had it out a couple of times, but I am looking forward to warmer weather. The Bike is great!! Also, if anyone lives near the middle of Missouri, Mid America Harley/Buell is a great dealer! |

For the past 4 rides it has always been a private group thing - usually just Blastards, though hopefully there will be a 620 Duc with us as well, and maybe an XB. The group from the North - thats my group - meets a group of Blastards from the South - led by Erik O. - he races the bikes - Willows and such - one day of the ride is to make it a ride to get there - that route is going to deliver a world of twisties, in some areas where you may not see another car in an 40 min.s time. The next day is a day of riding together as a bigger group - enjoying the roads, and maybe checking out the Sovran Motorcycle Museum for a couple hours, then heading back and hitting one of the best Rib joints in Cali - Mo's - where the ribs and beer flow - since we walk the few blocks from the hotel! The third day we say our goodbyes and the Northern group heads for the Coast and HWY 1, where we would slowly peal off towards our prospective homes - the Coast is most always a great ride! That is the SLO ride! I have 4 rooms reserved at the Travelodge in San Lois Obispo for the nights of the 24th and 25th - April 24, 25, 26 - those would probably be shared rooms, if you want a room to yourself - I would suggest calling them! Join us for a Really good time! Lets ride! The Northern to SLO Route: http://www.mapquest.com/mq/3-F1yN http://www.mapquest.com/mq/1-Y3HOyvaEAE7q4QdrKIyZ Coming back from SLO is simply going up hwy 1 and then peeling off for home! I'm staying in and modding. This winter in TN has been colder than usual. I got a square foot of the super cell foam from Sargents and some "carbon fiber" vinyl, I'm redoing my seat right now. Also just got my last bit of hardware today, the rear-sets project starts this week. Before spring I also want to put new springs and gold valve emulators in my fork and get braided SS oil lines. |

Staying in and moping here. I pulled something in my back and won't be doing my regular outside activities for a little while. XC skiing usually keeps me fit during the winter when I can't ride my bicycle. I have a question about which oil filter is the best for my Blast. I read the FAQ's and saw the Purolator Pure-one listed as one of the best. I can get one locally, but, are the bypass springs compatible with what the Buell delivers for oil pressure? I don't want to pay the 12$ that our dealer wants for the HD OEM. Now that I'm out of warranty, I'll be using the Amsoil 20dubya50 MC product, if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance. ______________________ Firing order: 1 |

Kr...where will you source the springs and emulators from??? Awf_hand...I wish I knew the answer...I just buy the dealer item to be safe, but good thinking!!! Indy...do you know anyone in the A/C refrigeration trade?? a good substitute for the foam (and it may be what they use) is "Rubertex" sheet insulation..its black closed cell foam and comes in various thickness...the 1" thick wholesales for around 25 bux in a 3' by 4' sheet. And me....if I can find a spare motor to work with...yeah baby...major mods!!!! |

In other news...I got my license in the mail today, also got into an accident. In my work truck. Had the other guy been driving a Ford truck, I wouldnt even mention it. He was driving a Toyota truck, so now he needs a new bumper. My truck just needs a little polishing compound and its good as new! I'll mention it again-my truck has giant rubber bumpers and an aluminum body-no damage. He needs a new bumper. |

Does anybody have any rearsets for sale, or know where to find any? Just talked to Banke today and they are no longer in production, except for special orders, costing around $650 bucks ($200 more than the original price). Trying not to spend that much, but if thats the only option, I guess thats what I gotta do. Thanks alot for any input. |

Well just to rub it in. I'd like to tell everyone here that it was chilly this morning but still nice enough to ride! It's only 40 degrees but should warm up to about 60 by this afternoon. |

Rearsets are expensive if you want them premade. I'm getting ready to start my homebrew rearset project this weekend. I've got the plate aluminum, footpegs and hardware ready to go, only spent about $80 so far. Just a little hard work is all it takes. I'll take pics of the process. |

Go into the knowledge vault and read the rearsets thread...including the archives...there are some pics of various ways to make them including my own lefthanded version... |
