Took my 8-year-old buddy on another ride this morning....27 degrees. We ran up to the Can-Am dealer to check out the Spyder and caught the disbelief when we showed up on the Blast. Some customers who drove their cars in were talking about us and he asked them what bikes they rode. They told him -- Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki -- and he asked if they had them in the parking lot and could he sit on them. It got real quiet, fast. |

I'm sure a portal to hell exists in that state. Sorry Garden State lovers. Best t-shirt I ever saw: "New Jersey-only the strong survive" LOL! A lady in my riders edge course wore a tshirt one day that read "NJ (heart) you" with the red circle and slash on the heart. Really funny. I've been looking for one since. |

HI ALL!!! Changed trades so I don't have a computer in front of me at work anymore! Just wanted to say "Hi" and catch up on what I've missed. We've had great riding weather (60's and clear) here in Sin City up until today WHEN IT FRIGGIN' SNOWED!!!! Gotta tell ya, I don't envy you guys that get the white stuff regularly. Just for kicks I took the Blast around the neighborhood in the best (Worst?) snowstorm I think I've ever seen in Vegas. My visor fogged up almost instantly and wouldn't clear so I rode for 15 min with it up. By the time I got home I had snow packed around my face over an inch think!!! LOL!!! |

If you go to a "Big Twin" shop they usually have a large assortment of jets. Tell them it is for a 40CV carb and they will hook you up with no part numbers. I am headed out to Boston tomorrow. I will see a few sights(my wife will be with me) drink a beer at the corner bar and watch a niece in some play, so I gotta dress nice. Wish me luck through Canada, they are nice people, and their country makes a nice short-cut to Boston. |

I gotta quit hanging with you guys... this license thing is going around. I just got popped for speeding, but that's not the bad part. The cop was beside himself over what to do. Evidently I had moved to Phoenix, got a new AZ License, gave up my CDL and my MC endorsement, then behaved very badly and ran up a bunch of tickets that I didn't pay for. The cop wanted to arrest me because, I am a wanted man.. in Phoenix.. but he had such a great "revenue generation / speed trap" spot that he was pulling cars over as fast as they went by and he didn't want to leave all that potential revenue... err umm I mean stop protecting and serving at that location, to arrest me. Anyway... he let me go (gave me the speeding ticket though) rather than leave his spot. I had to bring all the ID I had plus birth certificate and utility bills, to the State of MN to prove that I still lived in MN and that I did not in fact move to Arizona. Sooooo... Minnesota being the "nice" place it is. The clerk worked his magic, my MN license was re-activated and the Phoenix license and tickets were "voided" (I hope) I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop.. and keeping an eye on my credit reports. Ummmm...I'm dumb...what XR1200 offer?? On the completely off topic scene...some time ago I gave a buddy all my old parts from the old smallblock Kawi program I once ran (KZ650/750)...he recently got a bike together and we tested it this past weekend...778cc gas/nitrous...it ran 6.02 on motor and 5.86 with a TEENY nos (24hp) shot in the 1/8th...we will be gunning for mid 5's in the final tune...we have jets through 85hp...Let the ear bleeding begin!!! Thanks Erik Ya so far it worked out. Imagine my hesitation though, when I called the state about it and they said.... come on down and we'll look into it. I made a couple of phone calls first just to let people know where I might be spending some quality time. |

Woo!...I'm in Boston, the East Coast, full of history, George Washington, Ben Franklin, Paul Rever, and Samual Adams beer! Frigid temps and a BIG snow coming to the Great Lakes area on Friday when we leave, I'm assuring the wife that to be safe we can go south via North Carolina and Tennesse to come home and we should be OK. Canada was expensive, and the welcome at the Buffalo, NY border was lots of fun, we got the crossing guard that asked 100 questions, but hey, he let us back into the states anyways... I left the Little Kid at home to feed the chickens while we are gone, he called this morning to tell me that there was too much snow to shovel. |

my 03 blast has a funny sound at a little below what i think is the normal idle speed. it has 4950 miles on it and the noise sounds like an exhaust leak, but goes away at normal idle speed. i thought it might be cam chain????, and is this a tricky repair and/or can someone explain the procedure? thanks to anyone who might respond. oh yeah is also "run out of revs at a relitive low rpm and doesn;t rev up like other blast's i have seen. kinda of like a retarded cam effect. so....? |

That is your primary - you could tighten it a few flats, however, I instead would not lug it by going below idle speed - bad for bike, a little loose primary is good. EZ |

we don't have cam chains. The blast does sound just different enough compared to the evo motor that it doesn't sound quite right. and it is not right, it is missing a cyclinder and 200lb of boat anchor steel. |

Re-reading your post - primary too tight loosen about 8 flats. EZ |
