Pointless off topic info: I flew into Montana this morning on the 'Buddy Holly special' (twin props-it was a rough flight). It was not the highlight of a seriously messed up day though. I found out that my license is being held up for renewal (its expired-the airport is not the place to find that out) because of a hold by NJ. I havent lived there in 17 years!!! Thats the short story. Just when you thought life couldnt get more 'interesting'! LOL (I think). Internet access is limited so I may not be on too often. |

Gearhederiko, Glad you made it, I always liked flying in the smaller aircraft, I had lots of farmer friends with planes and they always used to look for any excuse to go up. I suprised my wife once when I was late for a family gathering, she wouldn't wait for me to get home and wouldn't stop by the airport on her way and pick me up, so my friend just flew me to where we had to go and i beat her up there. Rainman....do tell.... |

Are there any pictures of this on a bike around here anywhere? Do you need rearsets for this to work? Or does it go behind the stock peg legs? |

You might find the pics you're looking for somewhere back in the 'got thump' section. The sprocket guard in the pic above will work with the stock peg hangers. Looks like crossroads - they also made a similar guard with the right rearset built in. |

Useless important off topic info: Recently, all the DMV's in the country got hooked up to one national system. So, any old tickets got tacked onto your current license and if you go to rewew, it holds up your license. You cant renew until you clear up the violation. A parking ticket over 20 years old (that I didnt know I had) held up my license. There hasnt been any attempt to collect this fine and the DMV did not even notify me of my license suspension. Cool huh! I've found out that my situation is very common right now. So beware, if you might have any outstanding tickets, your license may not be renewed (and they wont even tell you). |

Gearheaderiko, I feel your pain....I just had the Little Kid at the magestrate to get the fine for a speeding ticket. $135 and his speedo was off as I had a repair bill for it. They just want the money but now the points get assesed by the Sexretary of State and that adds up because you have to pay bad driver fees and of course the insurance goes up! Its about the money and making EVERYBODY felons so they are dependent on the state and take away personal freedoms. Just wait till you find out the hoops you have to jump through and what fees you have to pay to make things right again. Thats why I have a friend that does not have a drivers license, and basicly refuses to "contract" with the "THE STATE, Inc.", for the right to travel. I am now decending from my platform.... |

Swampy--my dad did exactly that. He got pulled over one day, ended up in jail for not having a license and refusing to sign the ticket. They had to enter a plea for him because his answer was that they did not have jurisdiction over him. They found him guilty and sentenced him to time served. They had to get a court order to release him because he refused to sign that, too. Since then, the cops don't even bother. One of my brothers got pulled over. There were 2 cops in the car. They both got out. My brother handed him his license, the cop looked at it, and said to his partner, "oh... He's an Attwood," handed his license back, and told him to slow down, and that was the end of that. |

LOL - You have to take them off to change tire - etc. - , however, HD does make some longer Mufflers also to make up for length lost to the header - would give you back a little of your top end - just make sure everything clears or cut it from the exhaust end to clear ;0) - lol EZ |

It's funny how the license thing came up...I renewed mine on wednesday...I had no problems, but i went prepared to the teeth with all my documentation in order..(why do I visualize trench coats and swastikas when i think of government anymore?)(zyou vill sign ze paper or zyou vill be shot!) there sure were a lot of others that did...it's all part of a nationwide "ID system " a counterterrorism thing if you buy into that sort of stuff...so the short of it like Erik said...if there is anything of record that is an issue...you have to get it cleared up...even if it is bogus, incorrect or whatever....the only positive side to it i see is it forces the bums that won't pay their child support to square things up...other than that...welcome to the dawn of the USSA. Swampy, methinks we think a lot in common. How long will it be before you are not allowed to think for yourself or be able to travel from Florida to Michigan without documentation and passports?? Enjoy the wind in your face while you can...i envision the new flag having a single star instead of 50. Reuel...the thing with your dad is cool...there is a legal way to deal with it also, but if you do it...you become entirely responsible for your own life...that is filing and becoming a "sovereign citizen"..I know several people that have...but it's definately not for everybody...you still have to pay vehicle registration and have insurance, etc...but as a sovereign, you are not required to have a license. There are other far reaching socio/economic implications that go along with it, but that is a whole seperate discussion. (Message edited by fast1075 on December 05, 2008) |
