Dang Reuel, WELL UP!! I whacked my noggin like that when I crashed a bike when I was 8 years old going down a steep hill as fast as I could go...was out like a light for three days..fractured skull...it will get better.

And I'm working on a P-3.9

I still hear clicking in my head when I bite down. What's a P3.9? Are you putting a 900 cc jug on?

Are those the dominator lights? Are they holding up well? That may be my first mod of next riding season.

Yes. They are cracked in the middle (where they bolt together) and have been that way for some time without getting worse. I think most of the damage was done by repeatedly pulling them on and off for racing and street use without much care. They should also avoid being tweaked when installed.

Nothing a little JBWeld couldn't solve.

Erik - how do you feel about another slow ride - maybe at the end of April instead of the beginning?

End of April should be fine as Easter is early this year. Doesnt look like American Sport Bike is going to do another Buellton, so we're on our own again!
I say go for it, it may be my last time: (: )

I attended my fist rally! Only having put 300 miles on my bike since I bought it and these are the first 300 miles I have ridden on a motorcycle in 10 years I was excited about the rally. I attended Roar by the Shore on South Padre Island, TX. Great fun, just was a bit nervous riding in a pack of motorcycles. Kept telling myself...Stay in your lane...Don't mess up the flow...And above all when at a stoplight do not lay the bike over knocking that 300lbs gorilla over thats stopped next to you!!! Put another 100 miles on it to and from rally. Now I feel much more comfortable riding.

Saw a red Blast Sunday 3pm on Ortega Highway (74) passing The Roadhouse(?) cafe. Went back to find the owner, but didnt see them. Would've helped if I'd been on my Blast too, that might have got their attention (I'm never ever on my Blast when I see another Blast and I ride it almost every day. I'm always on another bike).

I really needed to get home, but I had to go back and check it out : )

I wonder whose it was? Boy, I sure need some Badweb business cards printed up!

Well this was an adventure for me. I was riding around on the outskirts of Chapel Hill on some back road. Had some really nice twisties here and there. I was starting to get dark and i was coming up on this really nice curve. I took the curve perfectly. Everything was going smooth, when all of a sudden my rear tire hops. There was a lil bump in the middle of the curve.

So my rear tire hops a lil. At first I'm all like, "its all good". Then the tire lands on some gravel and slides out from under me. As soon as I landed on the gravel, I knew what was going to happen.

I let go of the handle bars and let the bike slide out from under me. The bike slide for about 30-40 feet before hitting the side of the road. I slid about 40-50 feet in to the ditch. I rolled one time in the slide.

I was sooooooo lucky. No road rash, no torn clothing, no bones sticking out. My jacket had a lil scuff over the right elbow pad and my helmet had 2 lil scratches on it. The bike was lucky too. The right handle bar broke and my saddle bags had some road rash and the tank got a lil scratched.

I stood up and checked myself got the bike out of the road(luckly there was no one coming), called a friend in the area and sat, smoked a cigg and thought for a lil bit.

I HAD FUN!!!! I'm waiting on new bars and cant wait to get back on her. I am going to take it a lil cautious for a bit, but I'm not going to "walk away". I'm going through with drawls right now. I need to ride. lol

Did one of those BADWEATHERBIKERS rides today - lol

Thanks to TP/Wes - have a line on a custom exhaust maker, willing to recreate either exhaust in raw steal for 150 bucks quoted so far - just have to supply the ends - so I got 3 ends - free! - and Wes will supply the bike to build them around - my mission - drop off the ends!

I check the weather and consistently it said rain at night - so I went to work early - 5 am, to ride and cut across freeways to the Bay Bridge, and still there was traffic! That was one cold as ride in Summer gear. Did a short 7 hr day, and headed for the bike - as I put on my helmet the first raindrop fell. I raced the rain all the way to Petaluma - loosing half the time due to the Coastal nature of the roads, drizzle I can deal with, but the wind was awesome! I get to the station - the guys busy, but I sketch out my wants, and he replys that he vaguely remembers - so I produce the 3 ends and tell them their for that project. He says a Bike would have to be left with him. I tell him I figure Wes will since he lives near by.

I leave in good solid rain - a 104 miles done and only 69 more to go.

Was not a fun day - lol - and when I got home, I figured out what happened to that wet paper that flew low across the road - my lower muffler mount and pipe caught it, the scorching of the pipe, the little flame lick outlines on the case and the soot above the jugs base just under the first fin - little dapples of the burnt paper speckled across the bottom of the bike where it broke up - so I was on fire in the rain as well - terrific! Glad I didn't see that while I was riding - the rain trying to put out what the exhaust pipe kept igniting - that's why that part looks so scorched. I didn't even figure this out till I got the first layer of dirt off the bike and saw the weird discoloration across the lower front of my bike. I'll get it cleaned off in time - still one more project closer to completion!

OMG I'm laughing hysterically over here! Diet Pepsi coming out the nose!

You may have had traffic in front of you, but I bet the cars behind you were way behind you seeing little specs of fire fly a few inches from your bike before disappearing!

Jim - was here most of the day - we started with Monte Cristo's and OJ for breakfast followed by good coffee and touching base. The wife went out shopping and I gave him a tour and headed to the garage to show him the latest incarnations of the bikes, what is left needed for one project, and perhaps the start of a fourth project, and talk a little Buell treason. We goofed off till 3:30 - it rained all day - but I have a large covered side patio, so we fired up the BBQ, threw on some steaks, Shish-kabobs, and corn, while the wife made mashed potatoes and salad. A couple of beers later the BBQ is done and and we are in the house enjoying a tasty evening meal, with Rasberry/Apple pie for desert. I then grabbed my last two gifted cigars (very nice), grabbed two more beers, and then Jim and I headed outside where I threw some wood on the coals and watched it rain from the comfort of under the awning with fire to keep us warm, a good cigar for pleasure, and a nice Ale to keep the throat moist. Around 730 - it was starting to get dark, so it was time to let Jim head back so he could be ready and catch his early morning flight.

It was a nice day - with a good exchange of ideas - NKF Bearings - hmm..

Adrenaline is a wonderful thing...it makes you superman for a minute and slows down time..I have been "replaying" the scenario over and over in my head to try to figure out what happened...

On the club ride yesterday, we were riding down this twisty little road that I had never been down before...one of those roads that must have been a cow trail till it got paved...very narrow with a lot of rough spots....anyway, I was riding in the #5 spot and doing well until the road opened up to a 1/2 mile or so straightaway.

Needless to say the leaders left me in the dust on the straight...determined to catch up, it was WFO for me...the next turn was a blind left hander, and I entered the corner at about 60...about 30 feet into the corner I realized two things...it was a diminishing radius corner with a very tight apex...and it was ROUGH...at that point, things began to happen FAST...I hit a teeth rattling hole while heeled over sharply...the rear end stepped out...I nearly high sided...pulled it back in, and tried to reel it back in...the front end gave one heavy shake the bike tried to low side...I countersteered and the bike sat back up, but I ran off the pavement into the dirt...now i'm sliding sideways like a short tracker.. still upright, headed for a row of mail boxes and a barbwire fence, but decellerating from the sideways slide...I came to a stop inches from the first mailbox post...upright and still in the saddle...I realized I had instinctively pulled in the clutch when I ran off the road...so the engine was still running....I found first gear and pulled away as the last two riders were getting there...that my friends is the closest I have come to crashing on the street without actually ending up eating dirt.

At the next stopping point I did like the MIG pilot in the often seen video of the crash at the Paris air show...I stopped and lit a cig...while i looked for any carnage to the bike...except for a bit of scuffing on the bottom of the exhaust can..all was good...even my shorts went undamaged ; )

Sweet! I'd love to have a tiger for my daily commute. Is it the angle of the pic or is the Tiger that much bigger than the P3? It looks HUGE! makes the P3 look like one of those little pocket bikes.

"the blast is going nowhere". You're not going to ride it? Is it broken? Kidding: )

You'll find Buell owners are more apt to have a European bike in their garage than any others. We appreciate them more than just another cookie cutter "me too" Jap bike.
Very cool!

"me too"? You've got a Yamakawahonasuki Gsxzr? Me too!

Tiger is HUGE compared to the P3. I swear it's even bigger than that picture represents. I can fit the P3 in my 2 car garage with our two cars and still have room to maneuver. The tiger would seal the pathway letting no one in or out, without the side and top bags even. I'm still not sure what I am going to do about that...

Wonder if the city would let me put a shed in my front yard?

The P3 is going to my girlfriend, but I have already let her know I will want to ride it now and then in exchange for me performing the maintenance : )
