My gear shifter arm came off yesterday. I guess the vibration just let the pinch bolt come loose a bit. I put it back on and tightened it up snug, no problem at all. I do have one question though. I did not see any alignment marks. Are they any? I just set it up where it was comfortable and tightened it up but was wondering, is there any "right" place for it to be? |

Nope. I had to replace mine after the last little incident. They move them all the time for the Rider's Edge folks. |

OK, Just because I couldn't see one doesn't mean it wasn't there. Glad to hear I got something right. Yesterday, was one of THOSE days. I had the Midus touch in reverse. Everything I touched turned to poop. |

It's adjustable! Put it where you like it. |

That's pretty much what I did. Seems to me that there should be some knurling or something to increase the grip. I figure that it just worked loose from all the shifting and vibration. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. |

The shifter shaft has the knurling on it - same size/teeth as a sportster or an XB, so those are options for a custom shifter or with rearsets. The Blast shifter has an insert to convert from small diameter w/teeth to larger diameter w/out teeth. The lack of teeth makes it infinitely adjustable instead of in steps, and the larger diameter gives it enough grip without needing to have teeth. ....as long as it doesn't vibrate loose. |

If it vibrates loose again, my son has threatened to Duct Tape it back on. Can you tell I'm raising a red neck? LOL |

That won't work! Just carry vice grips to clamp onto the shift shaft... A REAL redneck would've known that - better send that boy to college! "the redneck trilogy of tech - duct tape, bailing wire, and vice grips" |
