So on my way home from work today, coming up to a merge of two lanes into one, I look back in my mirrors then over my shoulder and proceed to move over. The cars behind me were way back but as we get close to the single lane this PUNK kid screams around two cars and then squeezes in front of me braking hard while doing it. I had to slam on my brakes as to avoid hitting him and swerve into the opposing traffic lane. Now had anybody been coming out of the Canyon from the other direction it would have been a Head on Collision at approx. 85 to 90 mph. The other cars behind me were stunned and just shaking their heads. So I end up having to ride behind this kid as he continues to sip his soda and cruise like nothing happened. So I followed him for a bit and of course he's drivin around with expired tags on his car and I see a Chino Hills Sherriff up ahead. I pull up to him at an intersection and told him about what happened and about the expired tags, and he say's to me I'm off duty. Now I know it was a close call and everybody is okay (cept maybe for my blood pressure) but it's times like this where you wish you could get away with your own sense of justice. |

Sorry man! I remember the days when I was that kid sipping the coke, and not paying attention. Its amazing how much riding a bike makes me so much more aware of what's going on around me. |

It's not that he wasn't paying attention, because he had to be fully aware of what he was doing to blow by two other cars and then squeeze in front of me at the same time slamming on his brakes to not hit the guy in front of me. He would have smacked me either off the road entirely or into an oncoming car and probably not batted and eye. |

He was paying attention - he just drives like an azzhole! Leather riding gear might discourage that sort of behavoir.

Sycho: Their attitude is you'll move or you'll die. Didnt use to be that way, but it is in SoCal. I dont get that attitude as much on the 'big bike' as I do on the Blast. After awhile you learn to 'read' drivers on what they're going to do. Sometimes its best to get the heck out of their way rather than be in the accident they cause. |

Some times its just best to let things go..... Then there are other times when the situation warrants to follow them home and tell his mommy. |
