This morning's commute to work was just fantastic! The weather was clear and warm (low 70's) and there were no traffic tie ups in spite of the usual congestion. I made it to the highway in 5 minutes (usually takes me 10) and another 10 minutes had me out of the valley and into clear highway instead of the usual 15-20 minutes. I took my usual back road shortcut which usually lands me behind at least 2 or 3 really slow cagers but this morning I had nothing but smooth sailing as I bombed through the twisties and didn't encounter any other vehicles until the road ended at another highway and the timing was so perfect that I didn't have to change my speed in the least as I pulled up to the bumper just as they were pulling out onto the main road. They stayed right when the road expands into 4 lanes and I was able to get onto the main highway again for my final leg of the journey. I was worried though as I was passed by a Nissan Maxima driven by an Indian or Pakistani wearing his turban. As he was in front of me I noticed he kept drifting out of his lane to the left and to the right several times. I was convinced I was going to witness a person fall asleep at the wheel and crash in front of me. He took off his turban and set it beside himself and began to run his fingers through his hair in an apparent effort to wake himself up. He looked very bleary eyed in his side mirror as he drifted a couple more times. I even hit the horn to get his attention before he ran into a guard rail. A few minutes later, after the highway turned back into two lanes, he straightened out and appeared to be more alert. The next thing I saw cracked me up... A head appeared in the passenger seat as his "co-pilot" suddenly sat up! The dude was getting a knobber on the way to work! LOL! What really capped off my morning was what I realized next. The passenger had unusually short hair for an Indian woman as I am used to seeing them with rather long hair. As we approached an intersection she stretched and it was then that I noticed her unusually thick, hairy arms with lots of gold rings on her hands. My worse suspicions turned out true as they pulled off into the next Quickie-mart for gas or coffee and I got a good look at the DUDE in the passenger seat. I almost fell off my bike from laughing so hard! How often do you get to witness something that comical!? Anyway, I made it to work on time in a record 44 minutes after fearing my late start this morning would hurt me. Sunshine, good speed, smooth twisties, sex-capades & comedy (although somewhat disturbing)...awesome ride!!!!! |
