DHL - will add to your sons anticipation - they quoted me a great price - Saturday latest - before I ride - will see if I can make it sooner - probably not due to commute time though - leave at 540 and arrive home by 6 - sigh - but part of my commute is still daily by motorcycle, the distance the same by bike, but much better roads, then 45 min of BART. Got an air-gun nail - 10 penny - in my tire - have'nt the slightest idea of how considering the route - rode home with it, checking the air I see the dome head of an air-gun nail against my tires skin, I stop, reach down, pull my knife and pull it out, the slight glue resin on the nail had been keeping the tire air tight for almost ten curvy miles - average speed - 50 to 65 - lol - the tire instantly goes flat, I sigh and break out my professional, new mushroom head patch/plugs for emergency plug it and use the compressor to bring her back - being a native of SF - its not the first plug I've taken to the end of a tires life - but always that type of fix, and its always been near the center of the tire - another day in paradise - EZ (Message edited by ezblast on July 17, 2008) |

I am looking at getting the 600cc bore kit with the stage 3 head prep for my blast.I was wondering what aftermarket parts go best with this kit? what carb? what ign? ect.. |

Buy the whole stage 3 kit from Revolution Performance - a sponsor, will come with everything - my recommendation - if your going that far is the Redshift 580 cam or the SE550 cam and 1.75 ratio lifters - same lift area as the 580 but a gentler ramp for longevity, and Baker drum kit to replace the stock drum - will give you a much more dependable tranny and way smoother shifting. Mikuni or the stock CV carb - modified - are still good choices. EZ (Message edited by ezblast on July 17, 2008) |

I'd try and find a Screamin Eagle ignition that is a direct bolt on for the Blast. They are discontinued, but a few still linger in dealerships. Your second choice would be adapting the same style of adjustable ignition from a twin. I'd read through the ignition module section for ideas. They do sell a single fire ignition for the twins. I dont see any reason you cant use one of those and still have the Blast 'single fire'. You'd just need to use a single fire coil and ground a terminal. But I'd continue this discussion over at the ignition threads. |

So, I'm plotting my attack for removal of the rear wheel (I've the '07 shop manual) and I see a note in the drive belt section about misalignment of pulleys. My belt seems to be running farther to the right than it should be, as it is causing some wear on the plastic pulley guard. What do I do about that? ______________________ Firing order: 1 |

Get a better plastic pulley guard? - lol - you should be fine - mine showed such wear and lasted to their time. EZ |

Hey EZ. I couldn't get a hold of anybody at revolution. All my emails got sent back and the phone number on their site said they were millinium. What is that 809cc motor in your profile? Is it real? any information is appreciated. Gearheaderiko was that ignition system for the blast itself or was it from another bike? |

Ditto Awf hand.Unless the belt starts to fray, its normal. 04' Part# 32942-02 is a Blast specific Screamin Eagle ignition (it also fits 1998 and up 883 & 1200 XL). It bolts right on without any additional modifications (that cant be said for any other ignition). Regrettably I've had 2 SE ignitions go bad, but knowing what the other options are I think its worth a gamble if you want the best ignition for the Blast (ebay has them occasionally and if you find one at a dealer, ask for a discount. Ask about a warranty too. One is implied in the instructions, but its doubtful anyone will honor it). |

Brian Nallin said he could do that motor, would love to do that motor - and Millinium is their old name - they are the originators of the 515cc kit - phone is always the best method - keep trying. EZ |

Ok ill give him a call. I wanna see if he can really do it and if he can how much. Is he doing it with a blast casing or making his own case? |

It would be the XBRR piston/cylinder with a balanced and lightened modified XB12 crank - nothing really abnormal - weld up the old holes offset and re-bore and thread the stud holes, etc - its a little more complicated than that, but not that much more - the more we talked about it the more he wanted to do it. So I threw question after question at him, yuppers - I definitely think it is doable - with a 7500rpm red line for reliability - lol - Swampy - sent the package UPS - will not be leaving station though till monday - sigh - will send you tracking # - Just got the 25 Years of Buell Book in the mail - Court and Dave have done a really good writeup on the Blast in their book - its more than just a glance and the whole book is very interesting - more on that as I finish it - the book is very nice - great print size and plenty of of pictures to go with a sizable amount of prose. Thanks Ezblast! The Big Kid and the Sandman took a trip to New York to deliver a bike. I got a call early this morning that they were stopping at a motocross race on the way back so he wouldn't be home till Monday morning. |

Does anyone have any experience putting a different tank on a Blast? I just put on a set of clubman handlebars and would like to change the tank and seat configuration. Thanks! |

Yeah, same old Blast. Blast it all. I might have to leave the Motor Company for my next bike. |

Uber - finding a tank to fit will simply be a matter of matching center tunnel height and width - there is a large selection out there in aftermarket parts land, how it would look is a different matter entirely - lol EZ |

Chapparrel. Pirelli's or Avons. Pirelli for sticky all the time, Avons for tread mileage and stick when warmed up. |

I'm thinking a white 1125R to sit next to my Blast. I'll ask myself every day, mileage or acceleration? |

I cant tell if I am chasing ghosts or not... Do we have a smilely that is pulling its hair out? I pulled EVERYTHING off the front of the bike that is plastic (except for the hand guards ) and I can't tell at all where the oil leak is comming from. Here's the question, the infamous rocker box gasket, is it between the aluminum part of the head and the cast part of the jug, or is the rocker box 2 piece like is described in the service manual??? The oil is predominantly sprayed accross the leading edge of the jug and but goes from just about the top of the head to the bottom of the case. Geez my head hurts, must be all the Gasoline fumes from pulling the tank. I tell ya, the next time I top off the oil, I'm using a medicine dropper!!! Atleast with everything pulled off I have a reason to jet the carb and toy with the airbox... <sigh> I guess a gearheads work is never done... |

rocker cover is above the head and that - being you have a 2000 - is probably what is leaking - go here - http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/34972.html?1215827077 That should help. EZ |

Thanks EZ, Thats what I was figuring, but at 10pm last night I wasn't ready to admit it. I'm off to the parts house a little later today. Will let everyone know how it goes. While I'm at it, is there any really downside (apart from reduced fuel mileage) from jetting up before I install the exhaust? Since I've got the bike all blown apart anyway I'm gonna cut up the airbox and order the exhaust. |

Yeah it does! But I like the white 1125R. It's a tossup between power at a higher price or not quite as much power with better mileage for $2000 less for the XB12R. Wife likes both of them. She likes the Ulysses with the luggage, too, but that's even more. She asks if I think I can get $50 for a trade in for my Blast. I tell her it's not getting traded! It will be 3 months to 2 years before I can get whichever she decides to let me have. I want white, to contrast my Black Blast. (Message edited by reuel on July 23, 2008) |

I like the Black CR and unless Buell comes out with a killer single in the next year or two, because of buying the house it would be a few years for me also - of course the single would cost a bit less and then I could work out the financing;0) EZ |
