See the tire section in the KV - lol - and the electrical section for the stator. EZ (Message edited by ezblast on May 27, 2008) |

If I unbolted that mount on the back of the head, and didn't tighten it to torque (just wouldn't fit!), and it comes loose, would that cause high-RPM vibrations? I really feel it in my foot pegs when I'm getting close to bouncing off the rev limiter. It doesn't appear to be bouncing around at all like it was when the front bolt broke. Just strong vibrations in the feet. I'll be pulling it apart tonight so I don't need an answer. Just wondering if anybody has had the same sympton. (Message edited by reuel on May 27, 2008) |

Not to offend anybody, but the Big Kid has had lots of spare time on his hands since his Blast broke. This morning I was going late to work after an ill fated attempt to get the Little Kid on the plane to Korea(a story for another day) and I saw 3 ferral pigs in a corn field just the other side of the swamp. I went home and got the Big Kid up and he grabbed the 308 tactical rifle and went pig hunting. By the time he got up there they were gone, but this afternoon.....

I doubt 'The Doctor' (Rharms) has given up. He's been selling parts on ebay for years. I think he's the Dr Kevorkian of Blasts! |

Swampy: The Hog section is in the other part of Badweb. And I've got too many vegetarian friends not to mention this, but I apologize if that picture offends. |

Howard: Regulator is maybe 20 minutes. Stator is much longer, several hours at least. |

Those are some good sized pigs Swampy. I probably would've shot them too, if I'd found them in the back of my truck like that. |

Hey, take it easy..... Good fortune happens in the swamp every now and again, usually you have to pay good money to go on a pig hunt.

I have a few questions for you fellow enthusiasts, 1. earlier this year, Beginning of May, i could do about 90-95 mph on my stock Blast, now i can only do just over 85, would this be the difference in air temp? what could i do to remedy this? i will be re-jetting when my Jardine gets here 2. has anyone with a Jardine exhaust noticed any significant dropping of their fuel mileage, i get 55 mpg right now and would like to stay in that area. 3. Alright final question, when doing EZ's air box mods, (i read all i could about it in the archives) do you gut off the bugle part flush with the airbox or just cut off the flared part and leave some of the material sticking off the airbox, which is what it looked like in some of the pictures. Just want to get it right. and on side note, taking the Harley Riders Edge course this weekend, it'll be nice to get that waiver for my license finally Thanks for any and all of your help. |

If your doing the max mod with the stack filter - you would cut none off, if you are doing the regular mod - you would cut it all the way off and widen the hole to the filter wall and cut away part of the inner filterwall facing the carb. Sounds like the primary was adjusted according to speck - you lost power, loosen it up about 5 to 8 flats and the power will come back. EZ |

I did have the factory service done at 1000 miles. what constitutes a "flat", is it something that you can feel when adjusting the primary, i have the service manual, it says something in there about 3/4 of a turn is 4.5 flats, thank you for clarifying the air box mod EZ (Message edited by Robdog88 on May 29, 2008) |

Hex nuts have 6 flats. A full revolution of the nut would be 6 flats. |

You'll probably get the same or better mpg with the Jardine, unless you jet it for max power (which I assure you your Blast is not!). |

I got about 4-5mpg less with the Jardine, (50 around town, 45mpg at 75mph) unfortunately it did not last long enough to get many miles in with it. My jetting was 48/175 with the quiet core and K&N. Compared to 45/170 with K&N and stock exhaust. It felt a lot faster with the Jardine, I also drove harder and faster with the extra power and that probably accounts for the mileage difference. Paul |

Did you shim the needle too? Yeah, it could be partly from enjoying the extra power, partly from super rich slow jetting (48), or partly maybe I'm wrong! My mileage definitely improved or stayed the same when I went to the White Brothers exhaust. Generally going to a free flowing exhaust is 'free' horsepower as long as you dont go wild with the jetting. But I haven't been 'stock' in quite some time, so I'd have to go with the concurrence of others. |
