Gbaz - A car tach will work on the Blast?!? No joke?!? If thats the case I'm heading over to Advance Auto tonight and picking up a black and white tach that matches the speedo perfectly! It is 4, 6, or 8 cylinder selectable so maybe...? |

Thanks for the advice Unfortunately, he is in TX until December. I sent him the title so he can sign on to it and then he will register it in Illinois. I already paid for registration - don't know why they didn't say anything when I first went to the DMV - it cost ~160. Gotta love CA. Does anyone else's bike run low on the gears? It feels like its in too high of a gear when in 4th at 40 up to 50. |

That's the same tach I have - got it at O'Reilley's auto parts for about $70 - check the instrumentation forum under "the knowledge vault". Felicita, maybe he can send you copies of his ID & papers and you could get CA to do it, since it's already paid there. At 40 to 50 you could run in 5th, just downshift if you need to accelerate. But yeah, it would be great if Buell would offer a re-engineered 72-tooth rear pulley - maybe a tasty little aluminum piece with a center bearing and mating right-side axle spacer.... |

Hey, is there any chance this will work for a Blast? I stepped on my throttle tube? (that black plastic tube part that the grip goes on) and cracked it in half http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BUELL-X-1-S-1-M-2-T HROTTLE-CONTROL_W0QQitemZ300218684899QQcmdZViewIte m |

Ugh. Three posts in a row...I feel dumb. LoL, one last thing before I head to sleep, I have the Blast parts manual, which has been very helpful getting part numbers, and has great diagrams that have helped me get a few things apart and together. I am wondering if it would be worth the money to buy a Blast service manual too. I wanted to know because if so, right now on Ebay I could get an actual book, or a PDF version on CD. If a service manual would be a good investment on top of the parts manual, would a book or PDF be better? THANKS!! |

Get a service manual. PDF (disc) or book, just get one. You can always print out the PDF. Its tough to have the computer sitting right next to you as you pull your bike apart. {Chances are though the PDF version is bootleg and you're violating several laws as well as cheating Buell} You'll find if you stick around that there is nothing more frustrating than to try and help someone out and they have no repair manual. $18.50 is a lot to pay for a CD. You could ask him if its 'legal'. Any year manual would be fine. |

I figured as much with the CD. LoL. And that's good, because I ended up buying the actual book manual |

This looks interesting:

Last week I bought a 2003 Buell p3 blast and I just bought the motor oil and primary chain case oil to change. I haven't gotten a repair manual yet but will soon. Can anyone please give me detailed steps on how to change the primary chain case fluid? Thanks. } |
