Does anyone have any Best practices on Grips to install and remove? I just upgraded to Chaparall superbike bars and had to cut off the left grip, of course I would like to replace both but first can just add a left. I'm weary of removing the throttle grip since I may damage it when installing new but wanted advice beforehand. I got the SS2-R V&H on, looks nice and waiting for a friend to help me with the new jetting since I did not figure it out before. Anyone have a part list diagram for the so I can carb/airbox since I have many seals and mounts broken on it when I purchased it used. I plan to use K&H upgrade, is $65 standard price? -Edward4130 Kansas City, Kansas |

Cutting the stock grip off is usually required. For others: Compressed air works. Also jamming a screwdriver under the grip works (dont stab yourself). Some will come off without the use of tools. |

Good question - I learned about it from a comment Ralph made - perhaps he'll tell us - but I wouldn't hold my breath. Hey that Deutch connector in front of the battery, inside the frame on the left - thats the one for the carb - right? - thats what got the oil bath shorting and melting 2 wires that lead off of it - harnessed by themselves towards the main harness up front. Fun, fun, fun... EZ |

Speaking of Deutsch connectors, if enough people need them, I can get a good deal from the US distributor. I'd have to order at least $50 worth. The prices are looking to be about half what you'd expect to pay. If anybody's interested, send me email and tell me what you need. I'm not going to make money off this--I need a connector, too, but I don't need $50 worth of connectors. |

Wondering if anyone knows the full content inventory for the Buell factory tool kit? Thanks in advance! |

Sorry - no - I carry my own tools - can anyone verify that that connector is what goes to the carb - the connector under the seat on the left side of the shock in front of the battery. EZ |

I got no Deutsch connectors on the left. How many pins, what color wires? I should be able to figure it out with that info. Yours must have things in different places. |

Connector? Speedo I think, the one for the carb is under the gas tank. |

Thanks - I think swampy nailed it - now to blow out oil & leap a few fried wires and find where I stand. EZ |

Oh--that one's on the right side in my Blast. On the left is just empty space and a relay. Is it on the side that's big or small? The wire to the sensor is small. The big wire goes to the speedometer. |

its probably that relay plug of wires on the left in front of the battery by the shock - that harness with a couple wires wrapped into the loom melted heading towards the bikes front into the bigger loom. just switched out to the stock shock - Works said they'll fix it - not to steep - we'll see.... Hey EZ/Erik When I rejetted my bike for the Bub, I can't remember the jetting I went to... Whatever it was that is always recommended. Anyway, IF my wife wants to go back to stock exhaust, I suppose I will I have to go back to the leaner jets or the bike will be way to rich, right? Or, will it be on the rich side, but still OK? ALSO - does the buell windsheild hardware require the stock handlebar? (Message edited by naustin on April 16, 2008) |

The Buell windshield has a mounting bracket that doesn't connect to the handlebars. Upper mounts go to the bracket, and the lower mounts go where the fly screen was. |

Its the system relay - what does this do, and just what is it connected to? Could I hard wire around it or does it act like a switch? It says its the same as the starter relay in composition - so do I use that part number to order one, since its not mentioned in the parts book? EZ |
