Idea - I probably don't read this more than once a year - so I figure , some of the newer folks are reading and learning - let me know if you see something that should be put in the header of a certain topic, as a useful item to know going into the topic, or a file seen you think should be preserved for easy access - let me know with a link here and I'll see if its doable. Looking to replace my steering head bearings and wondered if there were any after market bearings being used, or should I just use OEM? Would there be any difference? |

Maggie, you can generally find better bearings for less by buying from a bearing supplier. I don't know the part number or size of the Blast steering head bearings, but if you can get that information, it should be easy to cross reference. |

Part numbers are usually on the bearing and race (unless the bearing is totally trashed, then the number may be worn off). |

Discussion of the XB primary cover, chain, engine sprocket and any other related parts has been moved here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/348579.html?1206978436 in hopes it may aid others in doing such a conversion on a Blast. |

yes, but it's nice to have the new bearing before you pull the old one out. |

This may be a strange question, but does anyone have suggestions for storing a kryptonite motorcycle lock on the bike? Preferably, I would want a front bag of some sort that I can put the chain and lock into for storage. The Blast is so light that I am worried someone will pick it up and throw it in a truck. Any advice will be appreciated. |

"THE BOOT IS NOT CRACKED."LOL! Do you help him write the ad EZ? Thats a good deal for one who knows what they're getting. Funny thing (and a pet peeve of mine) it doesnt look like he has the tank cover sitting all the way down. IE The tank cover trim ring looks like its sitting above the fuel cap assembly. I see so many Blasts this way |

Mine was like that after the dealer got ahold of it both times. The plastic at the bolt hole was messed up, so I got a 1" washer for it. Has been fine since. |

Anyone ever seen one of these installed? I dont really like the way it looks, but it does provide all the information you could need except air/fuel ratio (was reading some more and a wideband air/fuel add on is supposed to be out soon!!!). take a look. (and it does look like it really does just about everything....) Theres also a dash kit..... http://www.veypor.com/ (Message edited by gbaz on April 03, 2008) (Message edited by gbaz on April 03, 2008) |

These are the instructions.. There are 4 main installation steps: Mount the Veypor unit somewhere in the dash/cockpit of your vehicle using the supplied RAM mount. Connect the Veypor to your battery, or a power source controlled by your ignition key if you want the Veypor to turn off with the ignition. Mount a magnet somewhere on one of your wheels and a pickup somewhere on the bike so that they pass within 0.8" of each other when the wheel turns. Either splice the RPM sensor wire into your ignition coil input or your digital tach signal for RPM detection. Sounds easy to me...too bad its ugly as sin |

I was wondering.... Has anyone tried using a hump hose for a intake boot? I was thinking of getting rid of the stock air box and making a intake. I was going to order a new boot while i was at it, and was thinking of using a turbo hose when i started looking at the hump hose. would it allow the carb to vibrate without cracking? I dont know how having the hump would affect fuel intake though.... http://www.siliconeintakes.com/index.php?cPath=5 |

How much of an affect does not filling in the gap between the manifold and carb make? One could aim the carburetor in a little for better knee clearance... |
