I go fast, so scooter tires are out lol. When I get tires again, the MT75's will be my go to's. |

Only one of the scooter tyres is rated at only 92 mph. If you're going to do more than 92 mph for an extended period of time (as in racing), you have nothing to worry about. Blast Top speed is 96mph. I've ridden with some of these guys and if they're not having problems with the Diablos, you won't either. However, I prefer the MT75s. But if you want different than stock sizes, the Diablos are your only (good) choice. Keep us posted! |

I have done the Ton. Granted, my speed sensor is busted, but my riding partner on his bike was going 100mph when I passed him... so that's a give-or-take estimation on speed xD I trust your advice, and I would also choose the MT75's as well. Since I brought up my dead speed sensor, I have a limited idea on where to pick up another one, but really, I don't have a great idea on where to find one. OR how to even remove/install it.... can I use a Sportster's or some other HD's speed sensor? Or do I need a specific speed sensor for the Blast? |

Speed sensor is probably Blast specific, but I'll check the part number when I get home. Top speed on the Blast is 96mph( unless you are going downhill, have a nice tailwind, have a bad rev limiter -replaced your ignition with a higher rev limiter, or some other gearing modification. Unless you've done some work to your Blast, sustainable speeds at or over 96mph is very Unlikely! fwiw. |

LOL - unless its a 2000 with it's slightly different gearing - will hit the ton - otherwise I totally agree and concur! EZ |

It's not stock, lol. It's been re-jetted, with what sizes, idk, but I'm sure it was to accomedate the Vance and Hines glasspack. I think there is a subtle modification as well.... but I can't be sure about that. It's pretty quick. 100 something is the fasted I've done with it (and I didn't even hit the rev limiter! I did run out of gas though lmao) |

Well, the stock Blast has mechanical limitations that keep 96mph the limit. It doesnt have a speed limiter only a rev limiter. And the mechanical limitations are only 300 rpm above that. Beyond that, while it is possible to rev the engine beyond the 6800rpm valve float (provided your rev limiter is broken or changed) the stock cams have already begun to 'fall off' as the peak hp is at about 6400 rpms (appx.) and they lose power pretty quick beyond that making 100mph very difficult. Its also very dangerous to rev the engine at 6800rpm or more because it can be very expensive to fix when it breaks. Also, having the rear wheel lock up at 100mph because of wandering engine parts, although quite exciting, can be hazardous to ones health! So why all that information? 1st-it would be very interesting to know exactly what has been done to your Blast to make 100mph possible on a regular basis. 2nd-if it is just exhaust work then anybody who knows anything about the Blast is not going to believe you. 3rd-some people think the internet is gospel and may get the idea that with just an exhaust change their Blast will hit 100mph! The modifications that make 100mph are not commonly done. Some can be very dangerous. |

Since I'm the third owner, and am just becoming baptised to everything Buell and Blast, I only know about the exhaust modification, unfortuately. When I took the test ride before I even bought the bike, it effortlessly exceeded 80mph. I truely believe my Blast is something different, and it grinds me that I don't have a clue what it is I often, even though it's a risk, go above 90mph on almost each ride I take. I don't do it alone though, I only do it when there is at least another rider with me, just in case something weird happens (example: doing the ton that one day ran my fuel to empty. My bike sputtered and lost speed rapidly, so I pulled over on the side of the road, my partner came back and asked me if I blew the rings.. which I didn't, thank God, I told him that I just needed to switch into reserve. After doing so, it fired back up lol) So my riding partners can tell you that the Blast doing the Ton is no B.S. I wish I could be more informative about the mods.... but besides the obvious (exhaust) mod, I can't even put my finger on what other mod(s) it may have. My bike seemed to handle it fine, and I didn't feel like I was pushing it, so, I don't know what to tell you all. I'm deep in the dark just like y'all are too. Annoyingly, since it's MY bike on top of it all. |
