All that keeps them secure is a little set screw. The first ride down the road, one flew off, so I had to turn around and retrieve it. Then I made sure they were tightened down and I ended up losing both of them (without my knowledge) on the second or third ride down the road. So I would definately use the best lock-tite you can to ensure the screw hold them on. It is only an allen wrench type screw. I cannot locate them anyone on the web. I was able to locate that there is also a Pegasus front axle cover set 43686-01Y.
