How much did you have to trim the fairing? Nice pipe wrap - I would suggest ceramic coating over that for the long haul though - sweet bike! When do I get to see it in person? Want to drop by the SFMC thurs at 8 pm (Folsom and 18th) so Scott and I can get a look and plan a ride? Definately got some Cafe Thump happening there! Very nice! Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ |

Ed...I did not trim the Fairing, but had rework the old metal brace from the buell. I hammer them flat and turn them up side down the get the length and height right to work with the crossroad handle bars. It tum out to fit really well. I also had to fabricate some tubes and mount it them to work with my LED turn signals. They also turn out pretty well. I got the Ceramic coating on the pipe already... Ya...we got to hook up soon. My problem is I still did not get time to get my motorcycle license. I got to go to the DMW to get my car driver license renew and so I can also get my permit to ride the bike. The wife does not want me to go on the highway until I get certify next month. If you did not know, I am actually a newbie to riding. I am just very handy with the tools, so my café blaster is a little beyond my skill at the moment, got to be careful to not over do it. |

Relax and enjoy the ride and ride your own ride! Your starting on a great bike and now that its solidly your own you can enjoy the learning process more - though you'll probably cry at the first drop - no biggie - lol - it can take it! The bike looks great - most of your other mods you'll do to the bike now will feel subtle in contrast - even big ones - lol - remember - when that bike becomes a part of you - Ride it like ya stole it! (Great advice from James long ago!) GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

SWEET! Now I'm getting some ideas for my Blast, still sitting at the dealership. First off, any tips on bobbing off the rear fender? Second, I see a lot of you are moving your foot controls back to give yourself more of a "crotch rocket" seating position. Where can I get this stuff, or make it, and what is involved other than bracketing. I'll be posting plenty of before and after pics! |

Welcome! I've always found the people at Grand Junction HD friendly and helpful. Rear fender bob-Dremel. Rear sets-Crossroads or Banke ($400-$600) or make your own ($100 + or -) Really, ride your bike awhile. Rearsets may not be for you. The handlebars I can almost guarantee you'll want to change. |

Hi Will the JCWhitney small fairing fit a bike with standard handle bars? Or will the fairing need to be altered? |

I think the fairing will need a little trimming to keep from hitting the gas tank. Should mount up with no modifications. Have a great day |

FasterBlaster....... Handlebars. I like 'em. What are they, where from, how much, etc. I just put on the Superbike bars. Inexpensive, better than stock, but they hit the tank and I can't lock the steering head. It looks like your bars don't have those issues. |

Those are the crossroads bars. They aren't cheap. Google "Crossroads performance". They have lots of high-end goodies specifically for the Blast, including 2 different styles of rear-sets. Nick |

What kind of superbike bars did you get? There are a bunch of people running superbike bars (including me at various times) and I cant remember anyone reporting a problem. |

Hi All, My wife is having a blast! We just bought her a 2006 Blast this past Saturday. All stock but I like it and most important she likes too! So far she has built up over 200 miles of confidence. And she's pretty happy to not have to ride on the back of my bike anymore... |

Mmelvis........thanks alot, i think the bike looks pretty good too. i got my Jardine exhaust today and i will post a pic of the bike with it tomorrow. now if my fairing would only arrive i'd be one step closer to finishing my bike. the last and final step will be a set of rear sets from cross roads and i think i'll send the head out to Nallin over the winter and have them work there magic to it. |

Drilled and tapped this GSXR steering damper I bought on That Auction Site for $28. Makes the Blast ride like a 'Big' bike. It didn't 'need' one but it sure benefited from it. Can't tell you how much better it corners now as it was the best cornering bike I've ever ridden before the damper. Now it's rock-solid no matter what the pavement is doing...and it stopped that annoying 80mph+ headshake, too!
