Which would be the engine mounted style using a older tuber Buell shifter (hard to find and expensive new). http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/201 64/238530.html?1162433370 The mounting plates do not have to be that big but is up to personal preference. |

Guys just a note: check your banke rearset footpegs. I had a peg breakoff of the bracket last month. Banke was real good and apologized and sent me a whole new setup free of charge. I did notice though that the bolts holding the footpeg clevis to the bracket is only a grade 5 bolt. I swapped all my bolts over to grade 8 just to be on the safe side. The bolt did not come loose, mater of fact the head of the bolt was still stuck in the bracket firmly tight. The grade 5 bolt just failed. |

Buellistic- Yeah I took this picture shortly after I finished them. It did actually break about 100 mi from home, right at the switch junction. Replaced both part, braided line, and a pressure switch in the master cylinder. Worked like a champ. Even the dealer was impressed when I traded up for my 9R. They kept asking if I actually made them. I think they measured 12" back and 3" up. Still kept dragging off my toe pegs. I traded up for more power due to the fact that here in AZ, most speed limits are suggestions, and I had some near misses because I just didn't have enough power. Loved my Blast anyway. |

Does Crossroads still make rearsets for the blast. I was gonna order the Banke ones, but I wanted to take a look at the crossroads first. |

Crossroads made 2 styles (engine mount-frame mount) and I believe American Sport Bike now handles all the crossroads stuff. |

No offense but try looking a bit closer there is also Banke Performance which I would have bought had they be available at the time they are less aggressive than the Xroads |

I wouldn't say uncomfortable but I'm 6'1" and on long rides my legs get a bit cramped....BTW when I say long rides I'm talking all day long for 2 straight days. An inch lower would really be easier on my knees and I would notice the clearance at all |

Cross Roads are for the racers - definately the coolest - I got used to them - the Banke are more for the regular folk and are nice incity sets that the Blast should have come stock with. I like them both for their intended purposes - I've put a lot of miles on the Crossroads and Banke. The Crossroads unit demands that you reroute your Brake Resovour and use the Braided line for the rear - about36" - and the Bankee does not respond well to hard shifting - the linkage will break sooner or later - but is replaceable with the XB unit as well as Banke willing to charge a nominal fee for a replacement - I broke one and the step boy broke one with real hard shifts down - so I brought the throw up and now downshifts are gentle but upshifts firm - more livable in my opinion - with the CR the opposite is the case and no busted parts in over 18,000 miles except a broken toe peg on the brake side in a drop onto dirt - lol - story written about elsewhere - see the Darkside - lol GT - JBOTDS! yes well I rode to Ithaca NY from RI (600 miles one way and then back this summer all told 6 days on the bike, only one day of rain too, and none of it on the highway. One thing I learned is that unlike a car you NEED to get off a bike every once in a while just because. NY State is my new favorite place to ride...great roads. Hey EZ I broke the toepeg on the shifter side a week before the sale to American Sport Bike, got lucky there I guess. I do hope American Sport Bike keeps spares just in case I break another. BTW as I said I got my CR rearsets because there was nothing else at the time and while I like them at times they are a bit aggressive. |

Happy dawg days of August! I have not seen any pictures either way on this one, so, is it possible to keep the passenger pegs with either the Banke or crossroads rearsets? If it is possible, which brand is preferable? I think that I like the Banke (a) because they come black to match my bike and (b) because they are less aggressive and seemingly more durable than the CR rearsets. Does anyone have any pictures of the rearsets with passenger pegs still attached? I would greatly appreciate some pics of the modification if anyone has any. If the rearsets are not mutually exclusive with passenger pegs existence per se, do the rearsets present any comfort problems with passengers? I have about size 8.5 feet and my wife has small feet (maybe size 6 women's) to give y'all an idea of the space requirements for our paws. Thanks for the continued assistance and insight. JDS |

Your wrong on the durability, however the rear pegs will mount with the Banke. They are in the picture section - this years or last - lol - if you get the Banke - either mount the pegs an inch higher or get tubular dirt bike short pegs as I did - GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Uh.oh. Howdy, I sent the following e-mail to Banke: Would you please identify whether or not the either of your tailpiece kits will fit on a 2003 Buell Blast? Is there a pulley cover that will fit on a 2003 Blast? I cannot find a Blast pulley cover notwithstanding the picture of same on the web page for the rear sets. Finally, is there a way to install the rear sets on the Blast while maintaining the passenger pegs? Banke's Response: Joshua: The tailpiece kits we make are specific to the M-2 and X1 models, although we have had one customer try to adapt the m-2 version to his Blast. I don't know the results. As far as pulley covers go, we have re-machined a handful of the covers made for the bigger bikes to work on the Blast. We don't make that part anymore due to lack of demand. And as far as the rearsets go, where have all you Blast guys been hiding? We have offered these for years, they didn't sell in any kind of substantial quantity, and then this last summer there have been multiple requests for them. We sold the last production pieces several months ago, but have been building them on a custom basis at considerably higher cost. We have made one set of passenger peg mounts somewhere along the way, but we had the bike here and I recall that it was easy on one side because there was a relatively easy attachment point below the seat support but the other side took some modification to the frame. If we could get a COMMITMENT from enough customers we would reconsider putting the rearset kit back into production. JB Thoughts . . . suggestions . . . used rearsets for sale? And the consensus concerning CR rearsets? JDS |

I have some pics on here somewhere of my bike with banke rearsets with my passenger pegs installed. All I did was cut of the rider portion of the bracket, weld a piece of skin over the cut, sand and bondo to make smooth, paint and install. If you cant find the pics pm me and I can email them to you. |

EZ, it looks like you reduced my pdf to fit on an 8.5x11 sheet. The tracings have to print on 8.5x14" or else they will be completely inaccurate and useless. If anyone wants to use the Crossroads tracings I made, download them from here, and print them out at 100%: http://www.sendspace.com/file/oybbgj Phoebe |

If file size is an issue, here's a pdf that's smaller in size (about 150k) http://www.sendspace.com/file/fjfn5d It has to print on 8.5x14" sheets. The brake-side bracket is too big to fit on a letter size sheet. Trust me, I had to tape two letter-size sheets together to do the tracing. |
