Nice job man. I have a feeling that Ill end up slowly changing my bike and using the stock frame until I get the other one ready and determine if it will work at all.

In the mean time, did you have to do anything to the gas tank to get it to fit on the Blasts square frame? It looks too wide to except a normally tunneled tank.

GH you make a good point, Id hate to spend $600 on frame alterations and changes to other things to make the frame work, when I could buy a good frame for $700. Heh, I seem to do that kinda thing on all my projects.

"Heh, I seem to do that kinda thing on all my projects."
Yeah, you're talking to the guy whose spent enough money on Blasts that I could've easily bought a new XB (and kept the Blast). Its a labour of love. Sometimes its the journey, sometimes its the destination.

I did do some research on tanks and there are aftermarket tanks that seemed to have a wide enough tunnel. Jap bikes use a wide tunnel as do some of the newer big twins (HD).
And as Hootis said, it apparently doesnt take much to make one fit.

Is anyone aware of where I could get more info on this bike? It looks like they used the blast frame
backbone and added a hardtail and more to it. I like the Triumph look better but the stock forks and
rake may tame it up a bit. I doubt Id go that wide on the rear either. But info on how the frame and tank was done
would be helpful.

You know the Blast frame and engine would make the excellent old school board tracker set up, especially with a rear tire the same width as the front.

Here is a simple rendition of the idea I came up with using the same frame concept from the above photos. Its crude, but I only spent about 15 minutes on it. Dont ask why I put a oil tank in there....
Doing it this way leaves the fork at the same geometry, the wheelbase is the same, and the belt gears would be the same distance apart. The oil is still in the frame, the wire loom remains, the seat goes lower and uses the shock for suspension, forward controls would be used, and a rigid rear fender would be used.

Looks simple enough. A stock Blast seat can actually go pretty low just by modifying the seat, so it looks doable.
I envision using the stock swingarm making it easier(you said it uses the shock for suspension), but the top shock mount moving.

Yeah I could use the swing arm like the Hootis bike. It would be alot easier. Both ideas have the shock working upside down on the seat.

Thanks to Baggermike for finding this sweet Buell kit that looks alot like the idea I had above. The first pic is from GSmotors.
The second is after I photoshopped the rear cylinder out.

Got some parts in. Just a crude test fit.

Wait...wrong photo... I'll likely end up using a Sportster gas tank though.

Cool! I like the tank, but it may be a little incongruous for the look you want (let me know if you want to sell it?!)

Nice potential - I actually like the tank - and finally a use for the inner fender - as an outer fender!

That is a cool tank. Its from a Bridgestone. Id like to sell it to ya Gear but its only photoshopped on. The seat is real though. heh

I think a peanut will flow better. Or anything thats taller in front that slopes to meet the frame.

But then again, a Bridgestone might work if the forks were cleaned up with a smaller head light and no speedo.

Ill just keep playing with it.

Ok, this is the last of the planning renditions. I hope... Ive just picked up a tank from an 83 Nighthawk. I think it looks Tits on this bike. I dropped the seat lower that looks better, but may require loosing the shock and going hard tail ala Hootis' bike.
Try to picture it with rigid rear fender and a Demons cycle Cyclops head light.

All it needs is forward controls! And those studs on the seat will keep you from sliding off in the turns.

Where do you always find this stuff EZ?

I was wondering what one of their first frames for the Blast looked like finished. Pretty nice.

But I gotta say I like the new one better.

BTW, I finally scored some forward controls so I should be able to speed up the mock up of my version when they arrive.

I like their forward control version - very nice - I like the hardtale look with the stock drive train - very creative engineering - including stashing all the electronics with the battery in the box - good solution engineering and low to the ground also - I bet the bikes pretty light also. If the frame was Alum I would probably never paint it - lol
