Did you use the mounting brackets that came with it or did you make your own? |

it simply straps around the fork tubes. in the last picture you can see I just used a simple flat piece of stainless to mount the turn signals. I am going to add some pipe insulation to get the beam pattern higher, but other than that, the fairing is mounted with the included stuff. |

The headlight is also featured in the Fall 2007 Fuell magazine on an XB9 (pg 29). It also looks like it would 'unstrap' (?) rather easily for trackdays? If you dont get Fuell magazine, I believe all you need to do is sign up as a Buell owner at Buell.com. You no longer need to be a BRAG member (BRAG is no more). |

Yup. Erik, I saw that about 3 days before I ordered mine. I have had it picked out for about a year, but finally got around to doing it. |

Yes - Erik - and is about a quarter the weight of regular lights - and I've been enjoying mine forever - so for longevity I recommend them now as well - the knock off I have had on the former red/now black bike is not so sturdy but is still simular and works better using the Acerbis mounting instead of the hard brackets they sell for it - so you really have your choice of mounting for either - if you want hard brackets - use the ones sold on Ebay or use the Acerbis Bands - which I prefer - hold light tight to forks, use two tie-wraps to hold in place (one on each side) and enjoy - less vibrational feed back because of the rubber mounting which has prolonged light life - have yet to replace a bulb on the Acerbis - have replaced several on the knock off - still no biggie. Yeah - his XB bike totally steals my look - I'm flattered - lol - EZ |

"his XB bike totally steals my look" Unfortunately, its really hard to have a totally unique look for very long (unless its really butt ugly, even still...) If it looks good, someone else is going to use it. Then what really sucks is you have an original idea, it takes you a long time to put it together, then you look in the latest bike magazine and there it is! |

hi everybody, just thought I'd post a pic of my daughters new 03 blast, less than 400 miles when bought. She hated the blue stickers so they've been replaced and that's a Givi on the front end.

Some nice singles - Sache Duc KTM these are mostly current - yet Buell thinks a performance single won't sell - I guess he's been hanging around HD too long - lol - because a lot of folks are starting to think differently! EZ |

Hey Ed, Here are my picks. All currently available in the US. All singles and road going. Base prices range from $6k for the Yamaha to $7.8K for the Husky. BMW has 2 road singles at about $7k each. Granted, these are mostly super moto types, but that is very similar to how the XB9SX is marketed.
BMW's page doesn't download pictures well. But the 2 models I counted were the X650 XMoto and the F650GS. Build the X6 and they will come. I bet you could sell 1000 of them a year if you advertised them well and not as beginner bikes. Paul |

I am gonna try to upload some images again. I finally read the help docs and I think I can do it this time. The colors shifted quite a bit due to the lighting and the camera on my iPhone. The color should be red and not orange. I bought the bike a couple of weeks ago. It only had 270 miles on it--not bad for a 2000 Blast. I would like to replace the decals on the bike at some point. I think that the "Blast!" looks kind of dated. I love this bike. |

Zensmile, You are going to love that bike when you get some different tires on it! |

You know, that is funny. I was looking at the tires and trying to decide if they needed replacement or not. They are not dry rotted and they have only 300 miles on them--so they are not down to the wear bar. The problem is that they seem soft or something. I can't quite put my finger on it and I am not experienced enough to describe how they feel. Is it the stock tire that is just poor in quality or is it something else? Swampy, what would you suggest? |

Avon Viperstrykes at 140/70&110/70 - just do the Swampy shock tab mod and your golden. The stock tires leave a lot to be desired and old rubber is not safe. EZ |
