Now that Buell has canceled the Dirt 450, I must take out my frustration somewhere. I will be finishing my honda japolooza just in time for spring, and aiming at creating what the factory did not. Initially to keep the cost down, I will be using a stock donor Blast Mule. Looking to get some knobbies, laced wheels, chain kit, wider cross bars, more off road attitude for the bike. I have a line on a donor coming in cheeeeeep. Jones-in to make a DS/SM out of it. I know it will be heavy. I dont care. So chime in if you have ideas for forks/shocks/suspension/ parts sourcing. here is the inspiration for a low cost SM

Looks like the threads finally resort. Ok, I will do a budget on this thing and if the Hyo prices out alot less money.... They will get the buy and the Buell Blast Dirty Squirter will get the pass, if its close the Buell project will win in a tie ;P |

You could do a Blast version but weight is the key - it would be at least 30 to 40 lbs heavier than its competition motor/trans wise with no power advantages, the suspension geometry and mounting would be experimental and have to be adjustable - read custom - front and rear - the torque is there, just not the hp - lol - a doable fun project that has been done in dirttrack versions, a flat-tracker, and one other super moto custom, but so far no seriously dirty Blastards - I'm sure a Motard version would be cool - especially because of all the torque the motor can develop down low for digging up and out - lol - and still have suspension for the rough while able to carve curves - 95 is very nice if arrived at at in no time - I always thought once the engine reached a certain plateu your next trick was to get it to respond quicker with some serious carb tuning.
