Thanks to Ryan - a friend of mine - I enjoyed a very nice ride to/up and around Stinson Beach - North Bay area - very nice - BlastVader did great - better than me - though my knee was no where near as sore as I thought it would be. Great coastal roads and coastal mountain roads - just a sweet twisty time! Threw a few early pics of BlastMaul into the bikes' homepage and my profile pic - lol - Didn't get much in the way of work done but I did have a great time!Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! I AM SO STOKED!
I just turned my Blast in to Bossier Harley today, having them install the Nallin 600cc Stage 3 kit. Asked about a 720 kit, but the tech said it wasn't available, and would cost alot more to install. Oh well, i'll just have to make due with the 600

Any suggestions on a pipe to use with it? I'm running the V&H pipe now, it really helps the stock bike, imho, but I do want to listen to alternatives. Anyone tried the "Pro-Series" pipe from Buell yet?

Long time no see Roc ;0) - totally cool - a Nallinized Force pipe or the WB w/24 discs and no cone is another sugested Nallin match up (by Nallin;0)), the Wileyco looks promissing for two reasons 1- 45MM header id - 2 - 18% stated torque increase (hmm - we'll see)- have one ordered at our sponser American Sport Bike - they are trying to get them in as we write - they have just finished their first production run and been released - am waiting patiently - lol - Got Thump?! Yes, it has been a long time. I was overseas to support recent events in the middle east. I'm back now, and finally got the dough to do something interesting with my blast, besides swap out the stickers every 6 months LOL. Can't wait to see a freind of mine's jaw drop when I show him my Blast is a bit more than it appears MUAHAHAHAHA

A while ago back I was talking with Nallin while they where dialing in a 600cc Blast and heard him mutter how he was having a temporary problem with the ignition and at only 6400 rpms it was only putting out a little over 60hp - I figure from that they might have been expecting closer to 70 - thats with their majic touch - Aaron;o) - so you should rest easy knowing that your going to have one killer torque number and some really satisfying hp - lol - I drool - I just didn't have the patience or the second bike at the time to go that route - sigh - lucky dog! - Got Thump?! Got some (semi)bad news today. Mr. Nallin is running 4 to 6 weeks behind (or booked 4 to 6 weeks out? must think positive...) on headwork, so this will take a bit longer than I expected. Thats fine I guess, I'm certainly willing to wait a bit longer to get quality products.

Ricky at Bossier HD said the parts were ordered this morning, and the engine will be torn down early next week to be shipped up to Nallin. He even said he's see what he could come up with as a custom intake for me. I may still end up with the breadbox for now if it doesn't work, but I feel good that he wants to tinker a bit to help me out (at shop labor rates i'm sure LOL) This is the first Blast in this area to be graced with the Nallin kit. I wonder if its too late to ask for the 44 Mag version....

Yea - thats why I went with the 515cc kit - I would have to wait 6 weeks for install just for the 515cc and if I wanted the 600cc they would have shipped it and it would have been another 4 to 6 weeks - the reason I own two bikes now is because that wait just for the 515cc almost drove me crazy not being able to ride - I simpathize with how your feeling - hang in there as I have told ltlboybuell - all good things in time and your end result is definately worth waiting for - lol - Got Thump?! to rocbiter1: I have just installed the Pro-Series exhuast. I like the way it looks- like it was engineered for the Blast. What you might not be able to see in the ad photos is that it is kinda like two parallel cherry bombs, with outlets on each side- it splits at the junction with the down pipe. Has a much louder sound, nice and deep. Sounds like a MUCH Bigger Lawnmower now... But I can't say I see a huge improvement in performance by the seat of my pants. By the way, I have not installed a K&N air filter yet...but I did re-jet. Interestingly- I had read in these pages that I should re-jet to 45 (slow) and 170 (main) but when I got her apart, lo-and-behold, 170 main already there... must have missed a post somewhere... any way, I decided to try a 175... I have not seen a big difference in acceleration, but perhaps more power when in 4th or 5th gear at about 60-70mph. Top speed is just under 85 with my flabby 195-lb butt on it.

Well, i've topped out at 97 with my V&H, with standard filter and no jetting. I weigh 170-175, and tucked down real tight against the tank. That darn rev limiter was the problem...it pulled good in fifth all the way up, and was quite willing to go faster had there been no limiter. I can't wait to see what the Nallin kit will be able to do

Cool, Roc!
I don't Really need to go much faster than 80mph, usually... But it might be nice to hang with the Big Dogs sometimes. My only valid complaints about the Blast are ergonomic. I like long rides, and I just don't "fit" the bike I guess. The Corbin saddle is a possiblity, and rearsets look good, but is there a less expensive alternative to Crossroads?

I've bought 2 Buells within 2 months. I bought myself the XB9R and rode my wife around one weekend in Florida and got her hooked. She wants to RIDE, not ride. So I bought her a Blast just 2 days ago. Haven't given it to her yet. I work in Georgia but live in Florida. Sounds weird, oh well, bottom line, I'm taking the bike home (Florida) today. When I rode it to my Apt from the dealership, I instantly took to it as a fun bike that is easy to ride. But the vibrations are something else. Low end riding isn't just a little vibe, it's kachug kachug. Once up around 3000 RPM (guessing, no tach) it seemed to smooth out to a normal buzz. Keep in mind, I've been a Buell brand loyalist and rider for awhile, I know about vibrations. On take off, or when just cruising steady, I felt like I had to deliberately keep the RPMs up to avoid the kachug kachug. What I need to know from some experienced thumper riders; is this normal? Is this where the thumper name comes from? Way back in the early 80s I owned a Honda 500 Ascot single cylinder bike (my first). That bike didn't chug anywhere near this thumper. Any help would be appreciated. All Hail Erik.

You should be idling at a grand - you ever stand on a foot massager machine - thats the type of vibration you should feel from the bike - it smooths out between 2500 and 3000 and never returns and though it takes some getting used too - isn't really bad - its a single - try not to lug it - ideal rpm area between 2500 and 6000 for stock - you can take it too the limiter but banging the limiter is never a good constant idea - lol - would not hang below 2000 if you can help it. Now saying that I will also state that I would be suspect of too much vibration - stop by the dealer and ask to demo another Blast - put that little puppy in the corners - just to confirm ride;0)and see if it acts the same - should be no big deal.
Banke rearsets are less - working on a less expensive version myself - as are several others on the Board -
Corbins top of the line - I love mine - but there are others such as Sargents and most big cities have a good local shop - I have an extra seat that I think I'll play with a bit and see if a little customizing will make it comfier and if a little stitching will help the style;0)-

Anybody notice the wrecked Blast on e-bay?If you could get it for the min. bid price it might be worth it for parts(not really worth $$ rebuilding).Cant afford to keep the engine, but would be willing to buy some of the other misc.items(wheels,footpegmts,swingarm,tail).Anyone need parts for their project? Update to anyone wondering about jet size to best complement the Buell Pro-series exhaust. I tried a 45 slow jet and 175 main, and did not experience a noticeable increase in performance. To the contrary, I felt it lacked oomph in the higher rpm range. The 175 jet seemed to eliminate the "popping" upon deceleration, however, and gas mileage was steady between 65 and 71 MPG. I went back to the stock (at least on my bike) 170 main and removed the air filter just for fun. This combo was clearly better. I will have to try an easier-breathing air filter!

Go to the Thumper KV section - carbs - then to the most recent archives and you'll find links and info on the recomended airbox mod plus a K&N filter should have you breathing optimumly - then rejet to 175 - I almost missed that - that popping - still to lean - lol - a good time to reroute breather lines and ducktape hole - So the Dark side wispers - lol-

HalfMoon bay via back roads and then back to the Bridge then home - nice ride on a beautifull day!

Just a heads-up ... I'm going to offer my 600 Blast race motor in short block form: assembled cases/lower end/transmission/ cylinder/piston, for a grand even. Basically you'll be able to convert your Blast to a 600 by purchasing this and just moving over hardware from your current motor (primary stuff, gearcase stuff, cylinder head, etc).

I'll put the cylinder and piston on the motor and take some pics. If anyone wants it, speak up, because it's going on E-bay when I get it ready.

Aaron, you know I want it after pooping around on the 515 you built, I can imagine the 600. Yet it would be a waste on that Blast cause it already has a great engine. That means I'd hafta buy a motor-trashed Blast to put your new beauty in.
Gonna be watching your Ebay.

Well, Steve, it was destined for your bike, but basically another project came up, and I found myself with too many projects and not enough funding. Which is why you now have a little hot-rod Blast and hopefully someone else will get the makings of a race motor. You're right, though, that 515 is a fine running little motor and it would seem a shame to pull it down.

Ed, yeah, I know, it's practically giving it away, but I need to fund a new race motor for Susan, and she's the boss ;) So it's gotta go.

That tire probably won't fit the stock swingarm. The dunlop version in that size does not(too tall). But if it DOES clear, please tell us. And that IS a great buy on that tire.

Will let you know for sure, but I took measurements pretty carefully with one (inflated) at a shop here, and it will be close, but should fit.

I also took pics of my father's with the new windscreen today, see if I can get them posted tonight.
