Rode to work today! First time this year! XB Carbon fiber flyscreen, paint, tank bra, trimmed tail, shaved hugger, twin lights, mini signals, Vance and Hines exhaust, Pro Series intake, Rejet, tank bag, superbike bars, gel grips, bar end weights, ... likely forgetting something...

An unexpected six month layover (to live with two blonde chicks at the beach in SoCal) was handy when the clutch burnt up (uh, don't ask...). New Energy One clutch pack kit rocks, but you gotta get a spring compressor from American Sport Bike or you're outta luck.

Ulysses? No thanks, keep that hulk of a tank for the, uh, does Buell actually sell any of those? The Blast goes almost anyplace. It's useless in snow, though.

Check out the fix on that broken mirror. That's why it's important to have black duct tape - gray would look redneck!

Two areas where the Blast suffers: high speed straight highways and deep sand. Poor little Blast... didn't even get off the van.

You wanna talk about perfect Blasting? You're talking Zion National Park in SW Utah. Gorgeous scenery, buttery smooth tight and twisty roads, and a mile long tunnel that has the ProSeries exhaust sounding like a pack of choppers. Probably sucks in the summer-crowd season, though.

The only other Blasts I've ever seen on the road were in San Francisco and Santa Monica. Imagine my surprise pulling into a watering hole waayyy out in BFE and parking next to this old boy's Blast! He'd never seen another one. "Nice" little hole if you're ever between Fredonia and Kanab!

We took a ride to a family member's house Sunday in Cape Girardeau to pick up a Honda Rebel for my father-in-law. 225 miles round trip. What a great day to ride. We took Hwy 61 the whole trip rather than I-55. Lots of riders out! This trip was to break in my new Avons. The old Dunlops were destroyed in a cloud of smoke. Check out my new Bikemaster F1 Mirrors too! They fit the bike way better than the Mickey Mouse stockers. Bike looks good! I like unique ideas (hence my odd bike [scroll up and you'll see it]) and you are well on your way to having a one of a kind. I'd suggest the oversized Avon Viper Stryke tires in 110/70-16 front and 140/70-16 rear. Just make sure you hammer the lower shock tab so it is at least flush with the swingarm. Also, I'd recommend a Vance and Hines exhaust (as they are the most durable of the aftermarket exhaust) and a Pro Series or other Stack intake. If you go with an aftermarket exhaust you'll need to rejet to 175/45 and adjust your idle air screw (under the epa plug) on your carb. Here's an example of the tab mod on my bike.

Welcome badthumper. It looks as if your just getting started! It looks like a black exhaust might suit you better. D & D or get the V & H painted. Some rearsets would look cool and you could still keep the passenger pegs (w/cool checkerboard). But that would be a personal comfort preference. You could certainly make a cool design out of aluminum plate for them though. |

Great ideas. I have a new exhaust on the way. I think I will rap the pipe in black header tape, and paint the can. I am also working on a design for a fiberglass under-tail, with LED lights. |

I plan on doing my bike in a black and white scheme, Badthumper. How'd you black out the wheels so nicely? Also, I suggest using black wood stove paint over the header tape, which will get to looking quite nasty in a few months. |

The tach is a Equus from JCWhitney for 69.99. Works awesome. The wheels were painted with Krylon semi-flat black, one and a half cans for both. Slow going but worth it. Do not forget to clean the wheels really good with brake cleaner. |

Here's how our little blaster looked before the accident. It was a previous Riders Edge bike, but had few scratches. One oops changed all that. Need a front wheel to get it back on the road. G_B

Got my seat back from Sargent Cycle Products. Here's some pictures, from start to finish.
Boy is my butt happy! That tingling sensation in a certain portion of my anatomy after I get off the bike is completely gone. I took pictures of my Blast, but my daughter has the camera, so I'll post those pictures later. (Message edited by joey on May 05, 2007) (Message edited by joey on May 06, 2007) |

Very nice looking seat! How much difference is there in price compared to the Corbin? |

How much is the Corbin? This was $295 total, plus what it cost me to send it to them. I forget how much that was. It fits just as well as stock, um, since it was stock. I keep hearing that the Corbin seats need adjustments and such. |
