There is somewhat of a debate between two of my friends. One of them says my stock blast cannot do a wheelie and the other says that "any thing can get up".

I haven't tried yet. What do ya'll think?

Yeah it'll do it. I was riding wheelies on my rental blast during the beginners Riders Edge course I took last year when I bought my Lightning. Fun little bike for messing around on. But then again, your buddy that said you can wheelie about anything is probably right. If it doesn't have the power to do rolling start wheelies and whatnot from sheer torque, you can certainly clutch it up.

Take it in small steps. You'll get there. It took me about a year of riding to really get a comfort level and an understanding of what's involved to really do good wheelies. Now they come without even really thinking about it whenever I like at most any speed.

I also found them very easy to do stoppies on. Did I mention I was voted, "Most likely to accelerate" at the end of the course? LOL!

I have seen all sorts of things wheelied.
Best I saw was some kid doing laps around the block on one wheel with a 50cc scooter.
(he was touching down to take the turns but I was still impressed)

1: get rolling in first to about 15 or 20
2: pull in the clutch
3: rev it a bit higher than it was reving when the clutch was engaged
4: drop the clutch

Take it easy at first. It's real easy to loop out with this method.

It would alo be a good idea if you used only your index finger to do the clutching bit so that you have the remainder of your fingers still on the grip.

Also remember that the more people that are watching you, the more likely you are to drop it : )

I also got the "Most Likely to Accelerate" award in Rider's Edge. The whole weekend I got the 'knees in' signals from the instructor because my 6' frame didn't allow the bars to turn without hitting my knees. I think I could have wheelied the Blast but didn't get the chance.

When Bubba visited Wilmington this year he had a young girl in the audience on the back of the blast and wheelied it

Roll up to 15 or 20 mph, snap the throttle once and then snap it hard again. You'll stand right up, no problem.

I've also done that a few times on a dirt bike and I agree with you wolf, I never want to do anything even remotely like that ever again.

I've always claimed my xb had so much torque it would quite literally jump off the ground. Now I have proof! I haven't taken any of my wheelies to that extreme, but I too have done that on dirtbikes a few times too.

For the first three frames there, it looked like he was simply showing us all a new way to change tires.

I don't think I've ever wheelied my Blast but I've seen a friend do it when I let him test ride it.
Let's just say he has yet to even sit on my XB let alone ride it.

In case you thought stoppies and not wearing a helmet were cool!

Stoppies

Not that I have anything against either, just food for thought...
