Hi Guys. My G/F loves her blast, but it does seem to tramline a bit on the rain-grooved So-Cal Freeways. Tire pressure is right on. She's pretty light, under 120#, and the suspension is not adjustable on the Blast, correct? Any suggestions? Different tires? Thanks! - Jason |

Thanks EZ. This may seem like a dumb question, but is the rear any worse than the front? How about mixing tire models on a Blast...as dangerous as on an XB? - Jason |

Mixing tires is not that dangerous on the Blast, both Pirelli and Avon make good tires for the Blast in stock sizes. I really don't like the stock Dunlops either. I woul dsuggest changing out the pair for Pirelli's or Avons a set should cost about the same as the front tire only on the XB... James |

I have used the 140/70/16 Kendas and the 140/70/16 Avon Vyper Stryke with the stock front tire with no problems. |

Swampy - how do you like the handling of the Viperstrykes as a set? GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

I like them, you can really lean into the corners with them. And they stick. I think that the Little Kids Blast is showing some squaring of the tire as it is used to commute also. |

Pirelli, Avon. Oversize rear tire is usually just for looks. There may be benefits such as tread mileage, handling and confidence, but most commonly the first reason people think about a wider rear tire is looks. OE Blast Dunlops suck. Switch to the 'new' OE replacement Pirelli MT75's and you'll notice their smooth ride and indifference to grooves in the road. PS Dunlops suck. |

+1 on what Gearhead said! I have brand new Dunlops. They are not great. I have them 'cause the guy who put new tires on my bike is an idiot. He wouldn't change them for the Pirelli's I was expecting so we compromised & I didn't pay for them. (He went out of business 2 weeks after our contretemp!) Pirelli's are a real improvement |

Oh Yeah, Dunlops suck! I liked the way the oversized tires handled. On the Big Kids Blast I have an oversized on the front and a standard on the rear. I just think it handles fine, I would say it is a benefit to go oversized. But what ever you do heed this advise, no matter what anybody sells you, no matter if who ever puts it on and says they can't put on anything other than the stock tire, the stock Dumlop absolutly positively sucks! I don't even know why Dunlop would have built that tire other than they had a contract with H-D(spit) that required H-D(spit) and Buell to use their tires. |

some tires with the rear size are called front. why? is it a payload difference? |

Tires are built differently for front or rear. Rear tires suffer the torque from accelerating and braking. Front tires only endure the braking force. There are also tread differences in fronts and rears. Some tires are "universal" for use in front or rear (the Avon 120/80 is available in a universal). Many tires are directional also. That only scratches the surface of tire design! While some will run a rear on the front and vice versa, it can be dangerous and could suffer tire failure. |
