Does the Blast have a timing cone/cover and an adjustable module or a cam position sensor in order to adjust the static timing or does it have a fixed crankshaft position sensor with a remote module?

Could someone post the static timing procedure?

What are the stock jet sizes in the carburetor and is there an idle mixture screw?

Thanks in advance I am trying to trouble shoot an ignition problem.

Davo:

The COVER,timer-outer(plastic cover over the IGNITION MODULE,w/integrated sensor[ignition module]) has a LED for static
timing built into it ...

The PLASTIC COVER does not have to have a small hole drilled into it as the SERVICE
MANUAL states, "BUT" can be removed with the
small blade of a pen knife ...

STATIC TIMING Procedure:

Get the rear wheel off the ground("i" use car body stands) ...

Rrmove the TIMING PLUG ...

Remove spark plug ...

Put transmission in 5th gear ...

Rotate the rear wheel to bring the piston
up on the compression stroke(intake and exhaust valves closed) ...

With ignition switch on(rotate wheel) ...

Looking into the timing plug hole the TIMING MARK will come into the hole from the rear ...

Can not remember wheather the LED comes on
or goes out(have CRS and can not remember) ...

The FACT is it will either come on or go out when the timing mark gets to the position when the plug fires ...

The stock timing is the center of the timing plug hole ... "i" time my BLAST
with the timing mark just coming into the
rear of the timing plug hole and "i" only
run HIGH TEST GAS ...

You should these jets, 45 low speed and a
170 high speed ...

The idle mixture screw 2 1/2 turns out from seat(it has a plug over it that has to be removed) ...

Now tell us what kind of ignition problem do you think you have ???

There are two timing marks

When rotating your engine forward the first one you will see is the 2 dots, that is used for setting ignition timing while running.

The second one you will see is a line, that is TDC.

When static timing the Blast, the LED is just going off when the Line (TDC) is centered in the window. (Engine rotating forward)

The ignition module does the rest.
