Don't forget our Buell Enthusiasts/ Sportster American Sport Bike Night/ Motorcyclist coffee run for this month.

This month it is at the Starbucks in Clayton California.

o May 26th, 7:00 PM
o Clayton Station Starbucks
o 1536 Kirker Pass Road A
o Clayton CA, 94517

There is also a cold stone creamery and a subway in the same complex, so if you are hungry or just want coffee and something sweet, it is available. Again, any motorcycle enthusiast is welcome, the more the merrier. No special program, No special program feature, Nothing to do, except have fun talking with other Buell Enthusiasts! See you there.

Vasco Road and then onto Marsh Creek road is a great ride, if you are coming over from Livermore, Tracy, Brentwood, etc. Lots of curvessssssssssssssss, you bet! Even Morgan Territory road is a cool road for coming over Mt. Diablo. Otherwise, you can hit 680 from pleasanton and go till you hit 24 and ignacio road....turn off of 680 and head east to Clayton. Once you pass clayton road, the third entrance is where starbucks is. (first turn in past clayton road is the shell station, the second turn in past clayton road is a restaurant and computer store, the third entrance is starbucks. We will try and reserve front spots)

Jim and Terry from Vallejo...Might be a good time to dust off the BRAG group from Vallejo and head on over. Jim, we could even start planning our S-2 Buell Gathering.

Linda and Teressa. We may want to grab and hold the front parking spots and then back out of them when the bikes show up, so the front can be full of buells. Thanks, rex

The SLO ride is just 4 1/2 months away.
Time to get some rooms and do a little planning?
EZ: Rooms and the Northern contingency?
James: The Sunday ride?
Erik: The Southern contingency?
Perhaps there are others who want to help?

The first weekend in April seems perfect as Easter is not until the 15th.

I know it seems early, but soon it will New Years and April 1st seems to come even quicker (at least it seemed so the last 2 years).

Have six rooms reserved for Cali Blastards and/or folks that also wish to do the Cali SLO ride.

Travel Lodge - 1825 Monterey St., (805)543-5110)
78.50 satThere are a lot of Blastards here in Cali and yet very few of us have met one another in person. Here is your opportunity to get a good set of rides in, meet the folk/friends you have been conversing with over the net and share riding stories, and enjoy the sharing of a passion we all have in common - Buell. Last years ride was a lot of fun and the roads and folk where awesome! Truely an adventure you'll remember! The twisties are calling your name - can you think of more fun filled reply?! Heres your chance to compare notes and make friends, and this is California after all - a place known for great roads - our mission is to find them! Bring your ride, make some friends and enjoy a great time! San Louis Obispo is the meeting point - join us - the origionals plus already! So join in some fun and create some memories to recall. Let the ride To SLO Part Tre' Begin!

(again the ride will be April 1,2, & 3!)

Disclaimer: This ride is in no way associated with Buell, the BADWEB, or any of its organizers. This is a voluntary gathering of fans of the Buell Blast. No one is leagally responsible for another on this ride or gathering - we all agree that we are responsible adults in charge of our own behavior, and that a safe and sober ride is our own responsibility and expected of us. Housing, feeding, and personal care is each our own responsibility. Showing up for this voluntary event will be a sign of accord of the above statement and will be taken as acceptance of such.

That said: Please make sure your bike is in good working order, that you are in good working order, and that you are prepared for any contingencies that may occur (a cell phone and Brag Roadside Assistance Membership would be a great idea, any tools you feel you'll need, etc.). I will reserve a small block of rooms (8 rooms are reserved at the Travel Lodge - 1825 Monterey St., (805)543-5110), however, such rooms will be shared (unless you bring your significant other - that counts as sharing - ;0)) and any other lodging arrangements will be your own responsibility - so if you want your own room - you'll need to arrange such.

The Idea and goal of this event is to meet and share a little time together having fun and enjoying a ride!

Each of us may participate as much or little as they please, however, thanks to those participating so far it looks to be a promising start to a fun event!

Hope to see you there and remember - ride your own ride!

If more rooms are needed - I'll know by how people shout out here and let me know whose comming!

How about it folks - whose comming to this most excellent ride?

So this is news? Not really! I've been running illegally in NJ and CA (probably the 2 toughest law states) for years.
It'll come down to the helmet law fiasco. Is a police officer a qualified EPA inspector?-No! The real way they enforce these laws is through a state inspection. Until they do that, they'll still need a reason to pull you over, the same reasons they can pull you over now.
Same game, different rules. They've let so much slide over the last few years, this would be just one more ticket to add to the already countless violations being run on the road today.

"If you're gonna let a few laws stand in your way of riding, you might as well give it up now"You can quote me on that!

So after beating this horse to death on all the Boards that I knew I'd get an answer, it seems this will mainly apply to new bikes 2006 and up - thank goodness my bikes don't look new and anyone with a new one better dirty it up before modifying! - lol

I can only wish. Though the weather here has been mild enough that I could ride out of dangerous cold in a few hours if I head south first. Problem is, I'd have put on 2000 miles and crossed several mountain ranges before I even get to the starting point. I'd need a brand new tire before I left, and another one half-way home! LOL I'm just imagining having to stop for gas 20 times in a 3 day trip...one way...just to get there!!

Maybe next year! I need an aerostitch first though...

Definitely! I should plan on going to that too. We can meet in Albert Lea, and I can ride the rest of the way with you. Albert Lea is at the intersection of Interstates 90 and 35, so one way or the other, you have to go through here to get to Milwaukee. thumbsup There is some beautiful country if you detour off the freeways and head to Milwaukee "as the crow flies" from here too - along the Mississippi river valley in the "bluff" country of SW Minnesota and SE Wisconsin. I've been planning to ride over that way this spring with my wife on the pillion.

There are places out there where a town of 2,000 people is the biggest city for 100 square miles, oak trees line the sides of the 2-lane switchbacks as you decend hundreds of feet into the river valley, the 4 lane freeway is 100 miles away, and you're more likly to pass an Amish horse and buggy than an 18-Wheeler.

The Mississippi River valley itself is massive. When the glaciers were melting the river was many MILES wide. Today it is mearly a trickle of is Pre-historic self. When you reach the lip of the valley, you can barely make out the other side, which is across the state line. It is honestly at least 10-15 miles across, maybe more in places, and it is hundreds of feet deep. It makes the Grand Canyon look like a chicken scratch, Except that the human eye can't see the perspective - except from space.

We should do that. It was great to go to the 20th, and I agree, the Mississippi River valley area is a beautiful place.

James -

I have family in Waverly, IA. I'm sure Mike and Beth know them as that town is so small - Heck, they're probably friends! LOL

If you bike breaks down this time, I've got some friends at the Harley Dealership in Albert Lea, and I've got a guest bedroom that's all yours. thumbsup That's a great story, and I'm inspired to make the SLO ride in `07. Can't do it this year, unfortunately...

Man, there is a lot of stuff in the archives that I haven't read yet!
