Hey ezblast,
Thanks for all the information you have given me over at beginner bikes. I have to say there are some very interesting fairings out there that might fit on the blast, especially from what I have seen here. Nothing yet that quite screams at me.. I am kinda looking for a twin light if possible. I don't know if fairings for other buells will fit on the blast or not. Just trying to get as much information as i can before i really make my decision. If i can find something similar to your or even something similar to the firebolt I think that would be cool.. but so far nothing yet screaming ; )

Thanks,
Armand

Check the last few links I posted in the Links of Things You Can't Find Here section lower down in this Knowledge Vault list - I just put a few more in. You could see if Wild Hare (link in links section mentioned) will order one from Germany for you - they no longer carry them in stock though - the name for them was Alien Lights with optional fairing. You'll find something - maybe get some fork mounting brackets or modify the existing to mount the XB one - the posibilities are only limited by skill, time and money - lol

Ezblast thanks very much for the information. I did notice a couple sites that might have something i would be interested in.. I am extremely green when it comes to working, modifying, or anything like that when it comes to most things ; ) How hard would it be and how would it look to put on Ilmberger Carbon Replica Nose Fairing XB9/12R from trojan horse, also do you happen to know what lights it would use?? I am also guessing that a nice givi windscreen would go well with this?? oh and would i be able to use stock mirrors or should i get different ones???

Again sorry to bother you with so many questions.. and thanks in advance for the info.

Armand

PS I tried to attach the image but it would not let me said it was too big.

Using XB bracketry, some rubber gasket type material to adapt fork size and do up some lights, and your set - seems easy enough - you could use the XB lights or mount dozens of other types out there that would look the same mounted. Have fun!

I have the crossroads handlebars and custom rearset controls and I also have the Corbin seat. My bike looks great! but I cannot get used to the new riding position, it puts too much stress in my wrists. After 20 miles of riding both wrists feel numb.
Has anyone tried superbike handlebars with the crossroads custom rearset controls? Or has anyone used raisers to move the crossroads handlebars slightly higher/closer?

I dont think I would recommend risers with the Crossroads, just pick up a cheap set of superbike bars and try those instead.(risers will set you back at least 2x what the superbike bars cost). You could go back to the stock pegs also.Thats one thing I didnt like about the rearsets, too much weight on your hands, and not much to grip with your legs/body on the Blast to offset it.It takes some getting use too, but if your wrist are getting numb that quick, its not a good choice for you.
However, with forward controls and drag bars, you can still support your weight with your feet!(But who's gonna do that to a Blast?!)

the superbike/XBS style set up is your best bet(see the regular Thumper Discusion board for a quick link to the very bars I run on the red bike) - I run that on my Red bike with the Banke rear set set up - totally comfy - the rear sets should still be comfy once your used to them.

I progressed to my telefix bars from superbike to cafe to my clipons I also have a corbin seat). The custom rearsets do take getting use to though eventually even a 6'1" guy like me sits comfortably. I'd throw on the Superbike bars or maybe a dragbar and then after a while go back to the Xroads.

Xgecko,
I like your fairing, is that the one in Chaparral's website? How easy is it to install?

I been riding for some time now with superbike bars and crossroads custom rearset controls, the combination is a winner. You get the sporty look and feel without the stress on your back and arms associated with the more aggressive riding position of the crossroads handlebars; match that with a Corbin seat and you have a very comfortable motorcycle for both the twisties and for longer distances.
Thanks to all for your input.

Vic,
I put in about 100 miles this morning with my new Superbike bars (I also have a Corbin saddle) and couldn't agree with you more...the bike looks great and was EXTREMELY comfortable...the bars are only $15 on top of that! Boy, we Thumpers are a crafty lot, aren't we?

That's the Brymar Dominator Twin Headlight that I ordered last week. I saw that pic last week on eBay and it assured me that it would fit.

Couldn't tell much about the bar, but she says the brake lever is bent. You know, that takes some force to bend the lever in a drop. I didn't see any other damage, but the pics aren't really very good, so who knows? Caveat emptor, and all that...

What they did to the rear wheel is interesting but ultimately more effort than it's worth to me...I can't imagine it'll help the handling. I love the braided steel lines throughout...that looks simple rather easy to accomplish.

Hey guys, check out this website. It has some headlight/fairings that I have never seen before. Some look pretty cool, definately different.

http://www.custom-wizard.com/

The website is difficult to navigate (IMO), just goto the search box and type in streetfighter.

Has anyone seen the latest Enthusiast mag from Harley, third page in. Blast engine in a flat tracker. Anyone have knowledge on frame, parts, etc. or is that all "one off" factory goodies?
Thanks.
